Frank Politics

With much appreciation to Bob Kuczewski, for creating and maintaining the U.S. Hawks Hang Gliding Association and this website, many salutes!
:salute: :salute: :salute: :salute: :salute: :salute: :salute:

To those that pushed for the creation of this separate and somewhat hidden area where some subjects are isolated to protect weaker sensibilities, thank you!

Hat tip to Frank C. in the title.

Now to push the parameters of this privileged access, I contend that all politics is hang gliding politics. I do have some specific hang gliding politics in mind to deal with but am not prepared or have the time to delve into right now.
So with that to come soon I'll launch this thread with an article, posted today at https://www.zerohedge.com
that is sure to interest, but will be easy to ignore by the many that deem this new containment area necessary.

Trump-Ukraine Whistleblower Suddenly Won't Testify; Lawyers Break Off Negotiations Amid New Revelations

A CIA officer who filed a second-hand whistleblower complaint against President Trump has gotten cold feet about testifying after revelations emerged that he worked with Joe Biden, former CIA Director John Brennan, and a DNC operative who sought dirt on President Trump from officials in Ukraine's former government.

According to the Washington Examiner, discussions with the whistleblower - revealed by RealClearInvestigations as 33-year-old Eric Ciaramella have been halted, "and there is no discussion of testimony from a second whistleblower, who supported the first's claims."
And now, the partisan whistleblowers have cold feet;

"There is no indication that either of the original whistleblowers will be called to testify or appear before the Senate or House Intelligence committees. There is no further discussion ongoing between the legal team and the committees," said the Examiner's source.

In other words, House Democrats are about to impeach President Trump over a second-hand whistleblower complaint by a partisan CIA officer, and neither he nor his source will actually testify about it (for now...).
Meanwhile, once the House impeaches Trump - which it most certainly will - the tables will turn in the Senate, which will hold a mandatory trial. Not only will the GOP-Senators controlling the proceedings be able to subpoena documents and other evidence, they'll be able to compel Ciaramella, the Bidens, Chalupa and any other witnesses they desire as we head into the 2020 US election.

Nancy Pelosi saw this coming and caved to her party anyway. There isn't enough popcorn in the world for what's coming.

Frank has indicated in the past his allegiance to the leftist delusion/derangement. Frank, you seem to be getting what you wanted.
It's a leftist clown show and the Nation is the gambit.

Free - If I found it then anyone can find it. It's in the Hot Topics section. It's not in a "somewhat hidden" area by any means.

This is like saying "All stores are Walmart stores." Using your above rationalization to justify talking about general political news is just silly. There are SO many political forums on the internet I think it's time you took your political "talking points" to one of those.

The above sounds like a personal insult/attack against Frank. There's a rule here on the US Hawks that any personal attack must include the attackers actual (real, full) name. I've heard that your name is Warren but I have no idea what your last name is.

I need to make the point that your post is not about hang gliding OR hang gliding politics. It's about general/national political NEWS and insulting/attacking Frank Colver. As such, it taints what this web site is all about - that being friendly, respectful discourse about the sport of HANG GLIDING.

Finally- Not all hang gliding topics have to be happy-happy. We can learn from hang gliding accidents and those issues are rarely "happy" - unless the incident was mild and no one was hurt. Hearing about a hang gliding site being closed is not a happy topic. A hang gliding report that describes how "Everybody had a 3 hour flight while I had a 3 minute sledder." is not happy. But everyone of the these topics can add to the knowledge and collective experience of the hang glider pilots reading them (including other pilot's follow up responses).

Free/Warren, here is a political forum suggestion for you - http://conservativesforum.com/ I would guess you'd have a fun time over there. Have some real fun and put up a post over there about nothing but hang gliding and see what happens. After all, national politics are hang gliding politics and every hang gliding flight is a political statement, right? So your exclusively hang gliding flight story should fit right in! 8-)

Davis, you've deleted plenty of posts, so why wouldn't someone assume that you did this time, and the next?

Davis Straub, answers:

Because I delete the whole post, not just the contents.

And I delete posts from a**holes, not from great people like Owen.

Thanks Warren (and Davis?) for showing me another word to add to the U.S. Hawks "bad words" list.

The Hang Gliding Politics forum is intended to be about hang gliding politics and not about governmental politics (on any level). The thin connection between the two in this topic is indeed ... thin.

As moderator, I am ultimately responsible to the Board. I feel I have some leeway to exercise my own judgement, but in all these years I've always abided by official decisions of the Board. I intend to continue that tradition as long as I am moderator.

In this case (as in most), I lean toward free speech. So I'm not inclined to move anything unless directed by the Board.

Warren, I value you very highly on this forum because you are not afraid to criticize anyone ... even me! So as a long time ally in the battles for justice (on many forums and fronts), I ask that you try to keep the Board from making me do anything that I don't want to do.

In fact, as I've said before, I think you'd make a fine addition to the Board yourself if you'd ever be willing to do so.

To Scott and any other Board members, please feel free to introduce any motions you feel are appropriate. I do not yet feel there's any action needed, but I am just one out of five votes.

P.S. Warren has given his full name as far back as 2010:

What about global warming, Bob?
If the world ends in ten years that's not good for hang gliding, eh?
It's all politics and all leftist seem to be authoritarian.
That isn't an insult, it's just an observation.

Someone wrote: Global Warming is true, right Bob?
If we get it under control and minimize the effects, that's good for hang gliding, eh?
It's all science and only ultra "conservatives" seem to want the world to end.
That isn't an insult, it's just an observation.

I've never said all stores are Wallmart stores. That analogy is just silly.
Also for Bob's earlier argument that putting a tail in front of an aircraft wouldn't work, I guess he forgot that canards are just that.

Wingspan, the time for you to define what "is" is, was when you drafted language of censorship in the first place. You should have delineated exactly what was specifically not to be said in your ambiguous proposal. That would have taken a bit more effort on your part.
I was thinking that you got what you wanted by opening this new discussion board but evidently it was not enough. I thought it was all about keeping stuff off the front page.
If it was truly only hang gliding politics that you wanted off the front page then virtually nothing could be discussed there.
Is this what you really wanted? Hey Bob, you may be in violation of Wingspan's proposition! It would sure take a lot of work to move everything over here or wherever Scott wants it now.

The entire proposal to squelch free speech was predicated on protecting snowflakes from melting away from participation by talk that went beyond happy talk. That covers a lot of ground that is really impossible to specifically identify. I offer this proposal, instead of limiting/isolating speech that may dismay the weakest newbies (of which there are no examples) why not create a specific site where *only* happy talk is allowed and self identified snowflakes can go there and be certain that no disturbing discussion will be found to hinder their tepid enthusiasm in the sport? Sounds like a better solution than what Scott has implemented.

What does the board think of this?

I'm wondering, have you joined that conservative political forum and posted subjects that are specific to hang gliding, yet? Let me know when you do and let me know if there is any particular response by other forum members or the moderator(s).

What you don't seem to get, or just refuse to get, is that The US Hawks Hang Gliding Association is about hang gliding. Hang gliding subjects include hang gliding politics for sure. But MOST hang glider pilots fly (or read HG forum contents) because they want to get away from the business and/or political talk that they have to deal with EVERY DAY when they are walking around on the ground.

That's why I suggested a "Hang Gliding Politics" section. And it is VERY true that I didn't want it to appear on the Hot Topics/Most Active Topics page. Somebody who wants to talk about hang gliding politics (like myself, very often) could easily go to that section and make a point, post to a thread, or start a discussion. There's NO censorship involved whatsoever! No one is stopping anybody from speaking their mind.

Then there is your "special case". You want to stand on your soap box and have everybody hear/read what you have to say about general/national (non hang gliding) politics.

Well, the US Hawks has lost who knows how many members because of the amount of hang gliding politics on the "Front Page". A friend of mine who spearheaded the hang gliding display at the Glen Curtiss Museum told me, after signing up here as a member last month, that there seemed to a lot of "crazy conspiracy stories" on the Hawks. I explained why, as best I could, but he has NEVER made an effort to post anything to the US Hawks. That's one example of one person who thinks the US Hawks is some kind of "nut case" web site. He thinks so because of the number of "political" topics posted here - be they hang gliding related, or general/national related.

As long as members here can tolerate posts that are primarily meant to announce someone's personal (non-hang gliding) politics, They will remain members. But again, who knows how many other HG pilots, will leave (or have left) the US Hawks because of the divisive and utterly unnecessary communications that certain member(s) seem to need to put out there.
