You do have me scratching my head a little.
I’m too slow connecting dots.

I could give you a tip to help that but you may think me a 'know-it-all' if I just came out and told you.
The ah ha moment method wastes too much of my time.

Ah ha moments are the best part my time wasted.

I want the teaching moment to be direct and to the point,--- today.

Hmmm. Today, I don't know if I can teach anyone anything.
Horse to water comes to mind.
Are you getting thirsty?
What do you want to learn from me, today?

So next time you do the steam engine = hang gliding (delayed ah ha student teaching method) send me a PM stating, “Bill, your to slow to pick up on this so here is the point I’m trying to make with these ignorant pilots with my drawn out ah ha moment:---”

Bill, I've learned my lesson. I won't post magnificent example time warps in the inappropriate History category.
It is a bit of a leap to link Octave Chanutes' wildest dreams come true, with hang gliding.
It won't happen again.

By the way there never was any attempt to remain anonymous when I hit the, Report Post, button

No problem. It was an appropriate use of the "Report Post" button. It's the way the 'system' is designed.
It's 1984 . We aren't supposed to know or face our accusers.
Youtube shenanigans that shut down certain memberships are a great example.
Someone makes a claim, legitimate or not, and multi million hit links come down.
Guilty till proven you'll spend money on a lawyer.. much like Bob's case.
It use to be: he said, she said,... he is going to jail.
Now it's probably both as it's a chance for double the money sucked into the system.
Guilty till proven innocent is standard fare. Ok, I was guilty!
Sorry.
I Connecting the dots now----and after checking the link above it should be obvious that I was thinking that you were a creative conceptual thinker operating out of the right brain. (and possibly left handed).
After all, the saying goes, -- only left handed people are in their right mind.
I have a difficult time understanding concepts coming from creative conceptual thinkers. Maybe that’s why I can use electricity but not understand it. If everyone in the world were like me we would still be using candles, charcoal and birch bark to communicate.

Left brain, right brain.. I don't know. My older brother tried to kill me with a John Deere 4020 about 50 years ago and my brain hasn't been the same since. I was knocked out pretty good from the three point boom I was swinging from, as -Billy- was driving, broke at the top link while he was trying to throw me off. The lights went out pretty good. Tad can have a shot at that info..

My thinking isn't standard. One of my few remaining friends suggests I may be somewhere on the Asperger's scale, but she was only an art major.
What would she know? Actually she values my logical/practical side.. but there is a creative side. The first time I was permanently fired from Union Pacific, 1978-79, I had an old motor home and was ready to head south-west and do some wood carving. Moyes Midi - Will Travel comes to mind.

Uncle Pete sucked me back into the rabbit hole and I did another 20 years rail prison.
Who knows? If that hadn't happened we might be flying together today.
I know this doesn't answer your question but it answers some for me. Another catharsis period, it seems?

Artistic/creative for me now, is not being able to throw particular firewood into the stove because I think I can make a yard art something out of it.
I've got some out in the snow now, rotted down to poor firewood, as we speak.
Many unfinished projects.. more concept than detail.. I guess..

My concept for hang gliding is all but re-explained.
The pieces of the puzzle are there.
It's not the first time explained.
But not well, it seems.

Communication, beyond constraints of charcoal and birch bark is still very difficult.
I've been a failure at the FreeUSHGA message/lesson so far.
I'll work on it, for you are not the first to say they didn't get it.
I don't know about today. I'm about all typed out for a while.

FOR EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES
NEWS OF EXICUTIVE ORDER SIGNED FRIDAY 13,2015
Chuck Bednar for redOrbit.com – Your Universe Online

A new executive order signed by President Obama on Friday is designed to encourage private-sector firms and the government to share information about potential cyber-threats.

According to Wired, the president said that the order “calls for a common set of standards, including protection for privacy and civil liberties,” and should make it easier for companies to gain access to the classified cyber-threat information they need to help protect themselves.

The order, which was signed by Obama following his speech at a White House cybersecurity summit at Stanford University, places the US Department of Homeland Security as the agency in charge of distributing the information. That move, the website explained, was likely designed to quell concerns that the National Security Agency would play a key role in the process.

Instead of the NSA, which has come under fire for its surveillance practices in recent years, the DHS will be in charge of collecting and disseminating data to the appropriate government groups and private-sector entities through Information Sharing and Analysis Organizations.

These organizations are various groups comprised of companies, federal agencies and non-profits with a common interest in various sectors (financial, energy, etc.) so that they can share information deemed relevant to keeping them safe. Furthermore, the DHS will be required to work with the attorney general to develop guidelines for collecting and sharing the data.

The shared information, Wired explained, would include anything deemed to be an “indicator of compromise,” including but not limited to malware samples, phishing emails, the IP addresses of those launching the attacks and any other information about how systems become compromised.

However, the executive order “does not give companies protection from liability when they share information; lawmakers will have to do that through legislation,” the website added. In the case of civil liberties, the executive order states that private sector ISAOs would be asked to adhere to “a common set of voluntary standards, which will include privacy protections.”

President Obama did not elaborate on what privacy and civil liberty protections would be put into place for the information sharing. He also described the executive order as a “framework,” according to NBC News. Its signing comes just days after the creation of a new Cyber Threat Intelligence Integration Center that will collect threat information and disseminate analysis.

“Hopefully the rules will prohibit the use of the information shared being used for surveillance,” Greg Nojime, senior counsel with the Center for Democracy and Technology in Washington DC, told USA Today. He added that the intent of the executive order is to establish a process for creating the rules governing information sharing between the privacy sector and the government.

Cory Fritz, a spokesman for House Speaker John Boehner, responded to the executive order by stating that “unilateral, top-down solutions will not solve America’s cyber problems.” He added that, instead of signing the order, the president should support cybersecurity bills that had been passed by members of the House in the last Congress.

... A case study on sock puppets

Postby wingspan33 » Mon Feb 16, 2015 3:40 pm

While this topic has wandered a bit from the Sock Puppet distraction (?) I feel it is important to state my opinion on this subject. Frankly, I LIKE sock puppets! When a person comes to understand and appreciate their purpose, they will probably like them too!

Bill C, posts:---
Your quote above reminds me of a story my dad told me once about a guy at an oasis renting a camel for a desert crossing.

At the camel rental the guy inquired how much it would cost to rent a camel.

The rental fellow asked, “Three day of five day camel?”

The guy said, “It should take me four days for the trip but how do you select a camel like that.”

The rental fellow told the guy, “It depends on how much water the camel drinks.”

The guy says to the rental fellow. “Well I’ve heard the saying that you can lead a horse to water but you can’t make him drink, so how do you make the camel drink down two more days worth of water?”

The rental fellow says, “No problem. You stand behind the camel with a brick in each hand and wait for the camel to drink down three days worth of water because a camel will always take in three days worth of water. So when it looks like the camel is a getting ready to quit drinking you CLAP the two bricks together with a testicle in between the bricks. The camel will suck in two more days worth of water.”

The guy says, “OH MY WORD, DOESN’T THAT HURT??!!
The rental fellow says, “Only if you get your thumbs between the bricks.”
(No animals were hurt in the making of this story.)

I continue to read Tad's forum from time to time, and he does post some good information. But reading Tad's forum is like using a calculator that randomly gives a completely wrong answer every once in a while - always double check it!!

Here's another example (posted earlier this past week Tad Eareckson » 2015/04/27 17:40:37 UTC) where Tad again jumps to a totally incorrect conclusion (further supporting the "2+2=7" title of this topic).

In Tad's post (full text below) Tad appears to be trying to deduce who "outed" him (to me) back in 2011. First Tad quotes me from 2011:

Bob Kuczewski - 2011/12/16 16:08:08 UTC
Someone came to me with a concern that Tad was a child molester and his conduct might harm our forum.

Then Tad quotes Warren from 2011:

Warren Narron - 2011/12/14 00:35:57 UTC
If something like this is going to be used to make some kind of a value judgement against our friend named Tad, then maybe a name should also be attached to this sentiment so that a fair value judgement can also be weighed in this equation?

Then Tad makes his proclamation in response to Warren's question:

Tad Eareckson » 2015/04/27 17:40:37 UTC wrote:Scott C. f***in' Wise, Warren. BOTH counts. No doubt WHAT-SO-EVER.
  :
I had Two and Two right there together and I was TOO F***ING STUPID to put them together.

Then Tad lists some "evidence" and makes this statement

Tad Eareckson » 2015/04/27 17:40:37 UTC wrote:I CAN'T BELIEVE I was SO F***ING STUPID that it took me until this morning before THAT  FINALLY lit.

The sad fact is that Tad is wrong. Tad's answer to Warren's question is wrong. Tad's often claimed "2+2=4 logic" led him to that wrong conclusion ... even though he stated: "No doubt WHAT-SO-EVER".

Tad concludes his post with an insult directed at Scott:

Tad Eareckson » 2015/04/27 17:40:37 UTC wrote:Hey Scott... Lemme tell ya how happy I am that I'd started hating your cowardly guts BEFORE I came up with Four. F***in' Bob Show WORM.

I'll say it again, Tad has a lot to offer the sport of hang gliding. But he jumps to absolute conclusions ("No doubt WHAT-SO-EVER") which are simply incorrect. In forum discussions that leads to hard feelings and embarrassment. But in hang gliding that can lead to death. That's the point that's worth repeating, and that's why I'm updating this topic.

Here's the full post from Tad's web site where Tad wrongly accuses Scott and then insults him as a result:

I've been polling some of the people who I thought might have been avoiding the US Hawks because of Tad. Here's part of one response that I got via email:

When I say that I want absolutely nothing to do with him, I am not exaggerating. The simple fact that he's on your forum means that I will not participate at all.

Wow, Bob! It took DAVIS and ROONEY about five years to get desperate enough and sink low enough to play the child molester card. I'da thunk you'd have kept that one up your sleeve for at least six months or so.

OH NO!!! *MY* presence has kept this valuable person from participating!!! I can't begin to describe the depths of guilt and shame I'm feeling right now. I'm SO SORRY, Bob!

If something like this is going to be used...

1. Yeah, that's a pretty sleazy tactic, Bob. If I've got a NAME to work with I can usually make pretty short work of the author.
2. How many more like that do I need before I get voted off the island under nonexistent rules?
3. I'll bet I could do a little research and make a nice collection of some very similar sentiments about you.

Bob Kuczewski - 2011/12/14 05:53:36 UTC

This concerns me greatly ... and I still don't know what to do about it.
I heard about this incident when I was on the road, but I waited a few days until I got to San Diego to address it with Tad.
