I sometimes have mixed feelings about Ron Paul, but he makes a lot of good points here.
Mostly, I liked his concluding quote from Thomas Jefferson:
"Let the Eyes of Vigilance never be closed."

Another good (and enlightening) post Bill.
I was just a kid at the time, and my memories of the Viet Nam war come from a small black and white television set in our kitchen where we watched the reports every night. I'm sure your memories are much more vivid.
Regardless of whatever led us to war, I will always have the deepest respect for people like yourself who put your own life on the line when called.
I wish this forum had a little "emoticon" that showed a salute. You'd see a line of them right here.
