Trying to contact Bob Rouse

To All,

Bob Rouse designed and built a number of unique hang glider designs. His "Selected Works 1982-1998 " is full of very interesting and novel designs. We corresponded around 2000 but I have since lost touch with him.

He is a sailmaker ( previously employed as a civil engineering design draughtsman) and was living in Houston, Texas. He was working in Houston's Artist community and participated in the "Art Crawl" held each year.

I have tried contacting him through the Artist community and on the web but to no avail.

If anyone knows of him or can track him down and invite him to contribute his story to this site it would enrich us all.

Tony

Tony,

I sent your request to the Reg11 yahoo list also. Hopefully some of the Houston group can help.

It's an honor having You post to the SWTHG forum.

Respectfully,
Sam Kellner

Thanks for that Sam.

Bob's designs are a combination of art and engineering well worth seeing. His testing was conducted from the banks of a levy

I haven't seen Bob for many years, at least since the "Art Crawl". Maybe 1 time at the training dam where he used to fly some of his wings. Tony is right, Bob was very talented and accomplished pilot. Not to mention the MOST experienced SoarMaster pilot around. I'll throw some feelers out here in town at a couple of sail shops and the UL group. A few there may know his whereabouts....MD

Hangpilot 150,

Thanks for your offer to throw out some feelers to find Bob.

I see you are into trikes. This is the trike I operate in the UK for the Kent Scouts:- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A6tlCmrXKac

Hello Tony,

I look forward to the time when US Hawks is THE place to find people in the sport of hang gliding.

But bowing to the reality that we're still quite small, I suggest that you also post to hanggliding.org and the Oz Forum (if you haven't already).

Thanks very much for joining us and for all the history and perspective you bring. We're growing every day, and I do look forward to the time when I won't have to give that advice.

Best wishes, and please update us if you do find Bob Rouse!!
