I'll mention it to a few of the instructors I know.

But you'll have better luck getting instructors to move to Texas from Minnesota than from San Diego. :srofl:

I'd agree with that :)

Regardless, spread the word

Thanks Bob.

Doug,

I'm in Southwest Texas on hwy83, about 200mi North of Zapata. Many of the record attempts come up hwy83, depending on wind direction. The two 475mi flights, July3. '12, passed ~20 mi West of here.

The World Soaring "sailplane" Comp, 2012, was 40mi South of here in Uvalde. Also, we have the most visited State Park, in Tx. We have some of the best scenery in the state.

An instructor with TPL,TAT. Scootertow experience.

Bob, Doug, Sam,
I talked to a guy this past weekend about meeting in New Mexico with maybe Sam and Bob for an instructor tow clinic for HG.
The first guy was not interested due to liability issues. Not just money wise but him not liking the idea that he may hurt a student learning under his tutelage.

We have a PG instructor 45 minutes south of Las Cruces that I taught how to tow me up in a HG with his hydraulic winch with a pulley. He is thinking of going bi-wing-al learning to HG for days here that are too strong for PG. The instructors name is Hadley Robinson, here is his website:

The second guy I talked to is a HG/PG and trike pilot by the name of Matt Hayes. He is our RGSA club president currently. Matt said we would like to talk with Sam and Bob about holding an instructor certification tow clinic. Becoming an instructor for this area to advance HG appeals to him. I’ll call Bob and give him Matt’s phone number.
