Hey, Progress!!! We have a hangar!!

Also authorization to mow and use the grass infield.

The turf runway is directly in front of the hangar. Plenty of area to do scooter tow instruction.

Need Dragonfly and tug pilot

That was an awesome place for a fly in! It is where I got my AT rating.

Beautiful country down there!

Hi Nate,

Fantastic to see your post.  I was gonna drop you an email. The hangar finally came available.

We have permission to close in 52ft, the South side, with a 40ft door of some kind. That will leave room for a passage door on one side. The owner will share the expense.

That will make it a lot better hangar.

Thanks for always supporting the Fly-in at Leakey.

Looks like we'll be able to do a lot more flying here, towing and foot launch.

I hope the Cumulous street up for you this summer and you get some good XC from Mt. Buz.

 ,
Sam

I look forward to 2014. I had 5 launches and 5 soaring flights from Mt. Buzz in 2008.

The years between have seen tons of hours and hundreds of XC miles. I'm looking forward to soaring Mt Buzz again. Not looking forward to that hike. It is short, but steep!

Come the 2014, after hunting season, I'll start bending your ear about the possibility of a scouting trip and ridge soaring to get re-acquainted with hiking up and launching Mt Buzz. 8-)

I haven't hiked up there just for a look around since the 2009 fly-in

Take care

Nate

Nate,

Are you in the air again? How's the arm?

Here are some pics that show the progress on the hangar doors, and stuff from 49R.

door opening 40' x 11'

It really went together very easily. I should have taken some pics when I had the rope tied to the front bumper of the truck

lifting the 3x3x20 steel. :)
