I hate to see you suffering Bill.

Yup, that's a lot of stuff, but your browser can usually do most of the work for you. If you hover over the title for a post and then right click, some browsers (like FireFox) will pop up a menu. The menu should have an option something like "Copy Link Location" which will copy the full address to the invisible "clip board". Then you can paste it where you want it with "Control-V".

Welcome to the US Hawks Greg!!!!

The RGSA is a great biwingual club, and they are a chapter of both USHPA and the US Hawks. So they can get site insurance from USHPA (something we don't have yet), and they can get a club forum from the US Hawks (something USHPA doesn't have yet). If there's ever a national paragliding association, they can be a chapter of them as well, and get whatever benefits they offer. That's great thing about having choices!!

I should let you know that the US Hawks is a hang gliding association, so much of the discussion outside of your club's forum will likely be more hang gliding oriented. But your club's forum is completely controlled by the RGSA President/Board. They set their own policies and they tell me what to do on their forum. I just do my best to carry it out.

Having said all of that, I'm an H4/P4 pilot and I've done a fair amount of PG flying in the last 10 years.

I hope you enjoy the forum, and please feel free to write to me any time if I can help you with anything related to flying or the forum or the US Hawks Association.

Fly safe!!!

Hello to all. My name is Keith Blaylock, I am a hang glider pilot (Advanced H-4 with AT), commercial rated sailplane pilot, a Lazair ultralight pilot, a paraglider pilot (with no official rating, just airtime), and have been a USHGA (PA) member since 1977, (#21037), and above all, a strong supporter and advocate of "free flight". I currently live in Montana, however, I spend a fair amount of time in So. Cal. I still fly hang gliders but not as often as I need to, or want to. I fly Wills Wing gliders (as a general practice) and I was a production test pilot at Wills Wing for a while.
I arrived at this site via a reference posted on the Oz report regarding the Jean dry lake fatalities and liked what I saw so I joined the club!
I support Bob in the USHPA fiasco, and I cannot believe what they are trying to do. I have stated, (on the Oz Report Forum) that if the USHPA continues with this action, I will not renew my membership with them.

I look forward to the development of this new hang glider organization.

Thanks,

msoaring

WELCOME TO THE US HAWKS KEITH!!!!

It's great having multi-disciplined pilots here at the US Hawks. I think flying different aircraft gives us a better perspective on how to fly safely with one another. My own multiwing experience helps me understand what the "other guy" is expecting and how I can fly whatever I'm flying to make him (or her) more comfortable. I'm sure you know what I mean.

The US Hawks is still "getting off the ground", so we'd like to try to enlist everyone as an ambassador and a member of our unofficial membership committee. So please feel free to spread the word. Also, if you're a member of a local club in your area, we'd like you to mention the possibility of them joining as a Chapter. If you look at our Chapter forum, you'll find that we're integrating local clubs into our national forum so we can better pool our information and resources. That's another place where we're setting an example that we hope USHPA may someday follow.

Anyway, it's great to have you here, and thanks very much for joining us!!

Hey!

Postby EddiePaul » Sat Apr 18, 2015 12:39 pm

My first time joining a forum so be easy with me, I used to fly hang gliders many years ago but dropped out of the sport to study medicine for six months (joke). I then got in to stunt work for the movioes and building of a few cars for movies as well as inventing and fabricating stuff for films and the Government, I am now in the process of producing a few shows for Discovery and still work in my small home garage and own a bit of a machine shop. you can check out my web site if you would like at EPIndustries.com

It's truly an honor to all of us to have pilots with your history joining us on the US Hawks.

If you don't mind, I'd like to move this topic to the end of the "Hello US Hawks" topic to keep a running history of all the great people who've joined us in one place.

Also, if you have any questions about anything on the forum, please call me any time. It was a pleasure talking with you earlier, so please don't hesitate to call any time.

Bob Kuczewski

P.S. For anyone who hasn't clicked through to read Eddie's background, I've borrowed a section from his web site:

Eddie Paul is the Founder and President of E.P. Industries, Inc. With over 30 years of engineering experience, Mr. Paul has developed innovative designs in pumps, compressors, engines, optics, electronics, camera movements and housings, hydraulic systems, and animatronics. His diverse background in prototype development and design is unequaled and his knowledge of a wide range of engineering sciences has led to many discoveries. Consequently, Mr. Paul is the holder of several U.S. and international patents. He is also the Principal Investigator who guides and assists a highly qualified team of engineers.

Most of his experience stems from many years of contracting with major aerospace companies, branches of the United States Military, and large corporations in the automotive, industrial, and environmental fields. The portion of Mr. Paul's experience relevant to Circlescan 4D is his association with the Los Angeles film industry. He spent three decades producing and coordinating stunts and special effects for over 100 feature films such as Terminator, E.T., and the underwater IMAX film Search for the Great Shark. Jacques Cousteau and Discovery Channel specials document some of Mr. Paul's most notable work. He developed and manufactured almost every underwater camera and waterproof housing used by the Cousteaus as well as other oceanographic research equipment.
