Persons or businesses that wish to be listed on the USHPA website and/or any
USHPA publication as a hang gliding and/or paragliding Flight School must satisfy
ALL of the criteria forth herein:
1. The hang gliding and/or paragliding Flight School must be a person or legal
business entity such as a sole proprietor, limited liability company,
corporation, or not-for-profit organization. If the school is affiliated with
another school or parent company, authorization of such affiliation must be
provided to USHPA.
2. The Flight School must provide USHPA with a federal EIN or IRS tax ID
number.
3. The business entity/Flight School must have a verifiable physical address
and current contact information on file with USHPA.
4. The Flight School must employ or otherwise contract for instructor services
from at least one current USHPA Rogallo member possessing an Advanced
Instructor Rating and accreditations required by USHPA to teach the
offered programs and sign off ratings for students in those programs,
where such standards are established.
5. The Flight School must adhere to the teaching practices as set forth in the
USHPA-approved instructional programs as outlined in the USHPA Standard
Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and as taught in the Instructor Certification
Program curriculum if there are SOP’s and/or a curriculum established.
6. The Flight School shall require every student to be a current USHPA
member subject to either a USHPA pilot membership or a USHPA 30-day
membership. (It is critical that ALL instructors understand that if they fly
with a student that is NOT a current USHPA member or Temporary USHPA

member, the instructor is NOT covered by Rogallo insurance. In addition,
Rogallo members that do NOT FILE AN ACCIDENT REPORT with USHPA, for
an accident that subsequently results in an insurance claim will NOT be
covered.)
7. The Flight School must submit all original 30-day membership applications
to the USHPA office within 45 days of the conclusion of the date(s) of
instruction.
8. The Flight School will be required to annually register their school online
with USHPA and complete all fields of the online registration to be listed on
the USHPA website and/or any USHPA publication.
9. The principal agent or representative of the Flight School shall have a
signed application on file in the USHPA office, attesting to the accuracy of
the above conditions. Such application must be renewed annually on
January 15th, or before April 17th, 2012, for this year
10. The Flight School must be willing and able to provide unpowered hang
gliding and/or paragliding learning opportunities. Powered towing vehicles
may be used as a launch method. (Completely recreational tandem,
powered paragliding, and/or ultralight only companies are not eligible to be
posted on the USHPA website as a Flight School.)
• Note: USHPA will not post links to websites that are not directly connected to your Flight
School business. All Flight Schools posted on the USHPA website must have current
contact information to allow visitors to immediately contact the Flight School (e.g.,
website, email, and/or phone number). USHPA reserves the right to temporarily or
permanently remove any posting of Flight School information based on inaccuracies or
business practices that are questionable.
