"Sharing" of Hang Gliding Information ?!?

Here's how hang gliding information is "shared" on hanggliding.org:

( Note that the restrictions on hanggliding.org are the most severe. You can't even post a link to the US Hawks on that site or Jack will change it to something else. You can't even mention the names of "Bob Kuczewski" or "Scott Wise" according to Jack's rules without risking being banned. )

Here's how hang gliding information is "shared" on the Oz Report:

( Suddenly, you can't even read the Oz Report without logging in. And people who are "banned" can't log in so they can't read anything! )

Here's how hang gliding information is "shared" by USHPA:

( Isn't USHPA supposed to be "our" organization? Why are we - the members - prohibited from viewing sites created by the organization that we fund with our membership money? )

What the heck is wrong with these people?

Are they more interested in sharing information about hang gliding ... or are they more interested in building their own little fiefdoms?

I confess to previously having a bit of an Oz Report habit, but the forced login thing has turned me off permanently, and I am in fact grateful. Frankly, the site had pretty much been reduced to a few dedicated sycophants in any case.

I've seen many times the destructive consequences of "control freaks". I would just look at it as the perfect opportunity to grow membership here, Bob.

As publisher, since OR no longer is being spidered, then such takes value out of essay work that I enjoy doing for hang gliding. My former OR energies will drop to just research in posts. US Hawks forum is open and does get spidered for open research by others. I will essay as well as converse in US Hawks with what energy remains after wing crafting and flying; the open public may google tag words and find content in US Hawks. Thanks, US Hawks, for the progress and gathering place. You are the new Hang Glider Magazine for the unfolding new era of hang gliding.

Thanks.

One of the problems with sites run by the "control freaks" is that most people don't even know what's happening. Once a person is banned, they effectively disappear from the community.

At hanggliding.org, for example, Jack has even banned the use of my name!! I've become an "unperson" on his forum!!

So no one can even discuss any of the good (or bad) things they may think I've done. I'm surprised that such an individualistic group (as hang glider pilots tend to be) would put up with Jack deciding what they can and cannot discuss. But I feel that most of them don't even know how much they're being censored. So if you can spread the word about how people are only getting Jack's views on hanggliding.org, that would sure be a big help to growing the US Hawks. Thanks!!

Mark has been more specific, on public forums, about incidents that are causing the risk mitigation effort.

I think it is a CYA effort by ushpa, imposed by First Flight insurance.
