WARNING: Someone at Crestline is changing what people are posting without their permission!!!  

For 10 years, I've had nothing but good things to say about the Crestline club. But this morning I awoke to find that someone is changing people's posts on the Crestline club Forum.

It started last night when I found that an entire topic discussing Regional Director Alan Crouse had vanished from the Crestline forum. So I posted this:

There was a topic on this forum that exposed the corruption at USHPA through Alan Crouse's own admission. Now it's gone.

Has USHPA's cover-up mentality infected the CSS?

Someone changed my post to this:

They removed my specific references to Alan Crouse in both the title and my first sentence. They also added the statement "This in my opinion only"   I didn't write those words!!! Who at Crestline is faking what people are saying?

Then there was a topic where the CSS President endorsed Alan Crouse for Regional Director:

Our USHPA Regional Directors are up for reelection through the next month. I would encourage you to support our very own Alan Crouse.

Alan has continued to support the effort of free flight through Hangliding, Paragliding and Speed Wing/Hybrid flying for the past decade or so in our area and on a national level in recent years.

Alan is a Bi-Wingle pilot for both HG & PG. He has held various positions on the BOD level on both CSS as President and Soboba Soaring as current Treasure . He continues to help USHPA members have an approachable connection between members/pilot-you and USHPA.

As an active pilot within us, I've noticed half his flying day is flying and the other half inter acting with you the pilots, on USHPA stuff when asked.

Again, I would ask all current Region 3 USHPA members to support Alan Crouse in the current election. All others need not apply...

There was a time when Crouse had my full endorsement. But what has he done to address the hard problems? Alan Crouse looked the other way on problems that have had serious impacts on our sports. Alan Crouse has been just another "go along to get along" Director. Don't we already have a couple dozen of those on the USHPA Board already?

Will this post be deleted along with the other facts about Crouse? Wait and see ...

That's not what I wrote!!! That significantly changes the meaning of my original post. So someone at Crestline is intentionally changing what people are saying without their permission!!!

In my ten years of fllying at Crestline, I've never noticed a single character of a post be altered. Now I'm seeing entire discussions disappear and I'm seeing my posts be changed to say things that I did not say. Who is doing this and on whose authority?

Let's see what happens to that one ...

Changing what people have written should be highly offensive to everyone - regardless of what side of the political fence you're on. This is a serious matter and I'd like to know who is doing it and who has authorized it.

I'll be fine! I'll be fine Bob. I haven't been to the Crestline Forum in so long that I can't remember. But Thanks for the heads up that will keep me here on the US Hawks as a forum that is safe. I don't post on hgdotorg or ccs and I walk on egg shells at oz but I can still say that bobk's elevator doesn't go to the top floor and still have no worries HERE.

Please reconsider what you did at the CSS forum and reconstruct the original posts.
You have crossed a severe line; I am guessing you crossed the line without BOD approval.
In any case, the actions have the potential of destroying the CSS forum.

Who is Dave H ? His typo: "Do" should probably be "Due".
Tone? Dave is forcing "tone" over the matter. Block those with a tone that Dave H does not like to hear? Election time. I did not like the tone of the president of CSS telling "All others need not apply..." as he electioneered for his favorite guy; that tone felt really awful to my ears, but I would not block him from posting in CSS. Telling all others from his position as president "... not apply..." forms a tone complex that could be troublesome.

David Hards,

Changing people's words and deleting fair-toned messages has the potential of destroying CSS Forum. Please reconstruct the original posts and messages. Have you received BOD approval for the destructive actions? Revoking posting privileges to an active strong member who helps the hang gliding community because you do not like his political tone places a process that could topple the treasured CSS forum which has up to this time been sparkling exemplary in fairness of opinions.

Birdbrain just figured out the difference between "Do" and "Due" ... and changed his post.

Now let's see if he can figure out the difference between rights and privileges.

Democracy is a system of government that depends critically on the RIGHTS of people to speak their mind. When you turn the RIGHT of free speech into a "PRIVILEGE" you no longer have a functioning Democracy - you no longer have government by the people.
