Jeez, two tug pilots killed so far this year and they're holding tow-me-up-Scottie Nats.
Call me old-fashioned, I never towed. If I can't footlaunch off a mountain, I'm not interested.
Besides, what could be more boring than drifting over flat land?
But that's just me being a curmudgeon.
Have fun if you think that's what fun is.

Moderator's Note:

This topic had gotten diverted by a discussion about Towing and Foot Launch (among other things). Due to a request from one member and agreement from another major contributor (Thanks Tad!!), I decided to split those posts off into another topic now labelled:

"Discussion with Tad about Towing / Foot Launch"

Please feel free to continue that discussion on that topic and please post about the 2011 US Nationals at Big Spring in this topic.

Thanks to everyone for your cooperation. Both topics deserve discussion and visibility on this forum.

Joe Bostik flew the farthest Sunday.

The task was very challenging with overdevelopment and light lift along the course line.

Haven't read today's haps.
