Invited are details surrounding and about the biplane hang glider of The 1904 Louisiana Purchase Exposition / aka 1904 World's Fair

Simine Short has researched Chanute in depth.

There seems to be question about this photograph, as to whether it is the actual or a replica of the 1904 Louisiana Purchase Exposition glider"

And we seek the details of the following phtograph: Photographer? Artist? Day? Time of day? Who else took photographs of that flight? Details of the flight? Pilot? Shoes? Duration? Launch? Landing? etc. ?

And who is that next generation young boy with book or box? Is he still living? No; he would be about 129 years old now: Say: 10+96+13= 129. But he may have children that are living ... or grandchildren?

Non-slip shoes? Non-snag sock-to-pant low-drag arrangement?
The cart is an echo of a Chanute patent drawing.

Notice Chanute's teaching about the flare and how pilot is not connected:

Chanute "disclaims" .... does not approve of ... another's perma-connect of the kite line:

Might be fun to read and study the full patent text.

"may be dirigible" == "capable of being steered"

[[This discussion is linked from the Hang Glider History Timeline from the 1904 note about the patent. Those searchers arriving to the Timeline at that point have an easy link to this place where they may participate in the discussion of the 1904 glider of the World's Fair. ]]

Note the name given for the "cord-uprights" ... where I am slightly puzzled. The uprights of the control frame and the pull cord for the towline releasing are in the region of the "cord-uprights" .... :?:
