In 2007 he became an honorary member of the Self-Soar Association (spirit branch in US: US Hawks HGA). I hold John as an honorary member of all branches of hang gliding.
John evolved his Otto Membership into flight in 2010 with WW Falcon III.

Thank you for your message of Nov. 20, 2007 (!) to me; I
am humbled to be a member of the Self-Soar Association,
though I didn't first soar until August, 2010, via the Falcon
III glider I still fly from 2009.
I save all hang gliding-related messages, letters, notes, etc.,
and enjoy periodically re-reading them, gaining fresh valuable
perspective after hundreds of flights and about 95 hours air time.
I have kept at the sport, and periodically ride the ridge lift and
thermals mostly at Ellenville NY during the past few months in
particular.
