Great Poem!!!   

But somehow the rhythm and rhyming didn't seem quite right. How's this modification?

A wise old owl
   sat in an oak;

The more he saw
   the less he spoke;

The less he spoke
   the more he heard;

Why can't we all
   be like that bird?

By the way, if no one spoke, there'd be very little to hear!!

She saw it all
through eyes of time

It's plain to see
from up that tree
The heavy cost
of freedom lost

It slips away
on blackened wings
Slaves of mind
we dream of things

A thing is mist
ideas are real
A human wish
the old owl's squeal

Take to the sky
with eyes that see
Or live the lie
on bended knees
