Windsock.
Mike called from the LZ this morning just before 10:00 am.
The City workers called off the windsock work due to the high winds low to the ground. :?
The City expects the wind situation to be better tomorrow, Wednesday.

The new wind sock is up on the old pole.
Buzz Nelson texted that it might be a little sticky but that 7 mph swung it around.
Mike E will haul a ladder down for Memorial Day Weekend and we will see if the bearing needs cleaned and greased.

Re: RGSA CLUB NEWS. 2018 meeting?

Robin, Except for emails there doesn't appear to be any posting of the upcoming RGSA Annual meeting on either the US Hawks Forum or the RGSA website.
Also the history minutes of the last annual meeting (2017) hasn't been posted here at the Hawks along with the the 2015 and 2016 minutes.
Although I could make some updates I lack the authorization.

Hi, folks! If you like to fly, then come on over to our annual RGSA meeting on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 6:00 pm. This year it will be held in Las Cruces, New Mexico, at the International Delights restaurant. (The restaurant has a back area that should be quiet enough for us to have a reasonable meeting.) It is located at the northeast corner of Idaho Avenue and El Paseo Street, a bit north of the Albertsons grocery store. From Interstate 10, take the Avenida de Mesilla exit and go east (towards the Organ Mountains) past Valley Drive, and Main Steet, to El Paseo. It should be a productive meeting, with a pretty full agenda. See you all there!

Hey Robin,
Before your post the first time and also the last time that saw anything
about the annual RGSA meeting for 2018 was the email
By RGSA President Rod Burton on October 23, 2018:
“Call to order on Jan 20th? The 6th is a Holiday for many folks.

Please chime as we could have it again at the International Delights Cafe at 7PM.”
—————————————
Others, along with me, are now seeing different starting times for the meeting.
I’m wondering if I am the only one unsure about what time the meeting will start.

RGSA,
We had quite the blowout during the Columbus Day Weekend.
Mike E called from the LZ on that Saturday to tell me that all in attendance
amounted to himself, a homeless woman living out of her vehicle and the
rented port-A-John.
Mike tried several times to get up where the road use to be but was unable
to make it in four wheel drive.
I’m hearing that since the City of Alamogordo turned over the LZ property
to the school district the RGSA club was able to change the named insured
over and do so at no extra cost.
The LZ is still available but not quite the same can be said for the launch.

Good Afternoon RGSA Members and Guests,

I apologize for this late rescheduling announcement of our normal end-of-October meeting.

Due to my lack of attention to our quickly advancing 2021 calendar, I’m moving our usual 4th Quarter mtg FROM October 30, TO Saturday, November 6th, 7:00 pm.

Steve will be sending out a Zoom invitation as we draw closer to the new mtg date of Saturday, November 6th, 7:00 pm.

I’ll create an agenda, of sorts, though it will be brief.

Good Evening RGSA Members and Guests,

The November 6th, 7:00 pm, RGSA meeting’s Agenda (provided with Steve’s Zoom invitation, which he’ll be releasing soon), is pretty compact, as you can see below:

What: RGSA 4th Quarter Meeting Agenda (proposed)
When: Saturday, November 6, 2021, 7:00 pm
Where: Zoom platform

Attendees Present:

Treasurer’s Report (Steve):

Secretary’s Report (Terry):

Old Business:
A) 2021 Columbus Day FunFly (Oct 8-11):

B) Installation of Robin Hastings’ Launch Plaque

C) Present Dry launch-road conditions

D) Resolution w City of Alamogordo and Alamogordo School District re LZ

New Business:
A) Nancy Hastings would like to address the Club

B) Terry will be vacating the RGSA President and interim Secretary (for Robin since April ‘21) positions at the Club’s Annual Meeting, (tentatively scheduled for Saturday, January 29, 2022, 7:00 pm, meeting mode TBD). *****Terry will also be handing over the merchandise sales responsibilities at the January meeting.

Members, I know we have another three months, but before our January meeting arrives, PLEASE start to seriously consider your acceptance of potential nominations to fill our Club’s five (5) officer vacancies. Steve Crye is our Treasurer and has also taken on interim VP duties with the departure of Wyatt to AZ. All five (5) officer positions (President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Safety Officer) will be up for nominations, as usual at our January meeting.

Our RGSA desperately needs active member participants to give our Club a healthy infusion of the “new bloods” who have entered and enjoyed our hg/pg sports over these past few years. PLEASE consider accepting nominations and actively participate as RGSA Officers in order to keep RGSA an active and viable entity in our area.

C) Please feel free to let me know of any other discussion items you’d like to include during this Saturday’s Zoom meeting.

>>>Please stay alert for Steve’s Zoom invitation that he’ll be sending out soon and we hope to see you this Saturday, November 6, 7:00 pm, on the screen.
