I accidentally got caught in a time warp ----- I was looking at your January 11 post about the glass off.
Another mistake I just realized is I signed in under the moderator password. I gotta get a handle on what I'm doing.

Neat chase cam.
On the ground with no wind do you have the string attached to the arrow shaft to balance the shaft in the horizontal position?

The string is to attach the Cam to the Glider. It's about 12 -15 ft long and attaches where the normal lines are connected to the canopy. I wrapped it around the shaft a couple of times till it was balanced and connected the string to the housing of the GoPro, just in case. I googled a little today and found out I'm not the first with that idea. Mine needs a little more drag so it'll stay away a little further, but I found a solution for that, some guy just stuck a badminton "ball" to the end,I think that's the next thing I'll try.

Hi Guy's,
First, I want to wish everybody a happy new Year.
Sadly, I think I have to admit, that I'm the first to break one of my new Years resolutions, which was "keep things simple!!!"
After my first testflight and thinking about it for a couple of days I decided that my ChaseCam has to have one more axis to point it at the Pilot when not mounted straight behind.
In the end I designed (30 Minutes) and 3d printed (2hrs) the blue parts in the pictures and paired them with a couple of stock GoPro parts.
Here's what came out of all of that:





Testflight will follow soon.

Camera is connected to the Line, it's on the other side, you can see the yellow loop with black stitching across the clear part where the blue holder connects to the housing

Here's the promised Video and another one I saw I didn't post here yet.
Still need to put the Cam a couple of ft further out.

Chase cam test #2 looks like it hit you in the arm after you turned after landing.
Turn one second later and there could be a prop strike.
