The forecast for this month's Second Sunday (October 11th, 2015) predicts somewhat light conditions with a west wind at 7 mph from 11am through 4pm. This prediction is often conservative, so it might be a little better. Please check the following link for the hour by hour prediction:

2. From the Sylmar forum:

       "Just a quick note to let you know that Bill and Molly Moyes will be out
       at the Sylmar LZ on Sunday October 11th. We plan to arrive out there
       around 2pm and will have food and drinks on site from 4pm onwards.

3. Given that Bill Moyes will be at Sylmar this Sunday, I don't expect a strong turnout for our Second Sunday. However, I will be there for anyone who shows up, and I've created the normal topic with the forecast at:

It doesn't look great, ... and I'd go to Sylmar if I were you. : )

I work very near Torrey Pines, so I spent some time at the office before walking over to the Gliderport for our Second Sunday.

It turns out that President Obama's golfing at Torrey Pines Golf Course shut down flying for the day.

The gate to the parking area was closed and there were lots of police in the area:
