The City of San Diego has paid a cyclist $4.85 million after he suffered serious injuries while riding his bike on a sidewalk with uneven pavement, the largest settlement ever paid by the City of San Diego for such a case.

The City of San Diego should just put up a sign that says "Dangerous cliffs" and "No tandem flying" and walk away.
Local clubs could manage air time on a volunteer basis but no formal activities, requirements or restrictions would be allowed.
Rip out everything manmade and have an unmaintained natural area like it was in the 1970s.
Let people hike, or fly as is their privilege under the FARs.
The City would not be liable under California Recreational Law.

Amen.

I haven't had time to research this but the new lease could contain some type of morality and conduct clause which makes the concessionaire have to behave like a city employee, ie no middle finger or discrimination against creed. This way if Marion gets the lease he will have to change his behavior or else.

The RFP was issued Feb. 22 and applicants have until April 10 to apply.

That was quick.
BobK has been very close to City matters related to gliderport. He found out on April 1 by chance of reading this forum. So, how many quality applicants could be noticed in such a short RFP announcement period?

Sorry about that.

The video was reformatted which gave it a new YouTube reference. Here's the proper reference: https://youtu.be/2LXQZ7ZPtHQ .

I've updated the original post to show the new version. Thanks to Joe for his reminder that we should include the direct link along with the embedded version for situations (like ARPs) where the embedded video doesn't play.
