Letter of Resignation

In what is probably the shortest tenure of any office holder in any realm, I herewith resign from the US Hawks Board of Directors. Please delete me from future correspondence. This may be beneficial for voting purposes as it provides an odd number of BOD members to preclude possible tie votes. Thanks guys, it's not you, it's me. I have come to despise what hang gliding has become and I don't think it's possible to change it. I want to retire from the sport with a few pleasant memories remaining. Good luck in your endeavors.

Rodger Hoyt

PS: Please retain my US Hawks membership and rating. Thanks!

Rodger,
Relax. Hang gliding is a game between you and nature.
Some would say it is the purest form of putting yourself in the hands of God.
Hang gliding doesn't "become" something else because of the behavior of naked apes on the ground.
There is always a path available to you that avoids them.
Hang gliding taught me how to turn my fear into respect.
I found my center in the sky. I'm sure it is the same with you.
No one else has the power to touch that. It belongs to us.
You are just disillusioned by the politics. We all get that.
Thanks.

Thanks for your service to the US Hawks Rodger!!!

:salute: :salute: :salute: :salute: :salute: :salute: :salute: :salute: :salute: :salute: :salute: :salute: :salute: :salute: :salute: :salute: :salute: :salute: :salute: :salute: :salute:

There are times in a person's life when they can participate in something like the US Hawks Board and there are other times when they can't. Thanks for stepping up when you were able, and please know that we appreciate your service. Please call me personally any time if I can be of help to you.

Sincerely,
Bob Kuczewski

P.S. The freedom of the United States was won by Citizen Soldiers who stepped in to fight when they could and went home to their families and farms when needed. The very nature of our leaders followed the same pattern of Citizen Statesmen who would serve for limited periods and then return to their non-political lives. That's also the model of the US Hawks, and we appreciate everyone who steps in to help when they can. Thanks Rodger. :salute:

They are good for about 95% of the sites I know about here in New Mexico.
EDIT:
Come to think of it, Hawks ratings are more than likely good at one hundred percent of the sites I know about here in Southern New Mexico. Three of the insured sites here are in the National Forest. Only when we held the US NATIONALS and charged a fee and sent out invitations through the HG magazine did the need for insurance arise.
Just a pilot and their glider recreating in the National Forest like all other recreational activities insurance isn't required.
The land owners are held harmless by state statute http://asci.uvm.edu/equine/law/recreate/nm_rec.htm

Below actual wording of statute or code for New Mexico (USA) (I recommend NM pilots print and carry copies while flying in New Mexico)

So Rodger, COME ON DOWN. I'LL BE YOUR LOCAL SITE GUIDE.
