Bob England - A hang glider pilot who should have known better

"He fell at least 100 feet and crashed into the side of the cliff when his experimental parachute-like craft collapsed during a test-run above the Torrey Pines Golf Course. He suffered massive injuries and died at the scene.
-- "Paraglider dies in crash," Lodi News-Sentinel (CA), 3 Jun 1996, 3.

England was a highly-regarded British hang glider designer who had unfortunately transitioned to paragliding.

Quote:
After Dick Boone at Bill Bennett's factory and Phoenix Viper: (1982 transition) came Robert England and the Phoenix Streak: The above link quote: England produced the Streak. It was the most advanced Delta Wing hang glider yet built, but the design embodied nothing new. England borrowed heavily from the Ultralite Products Comet introduced two years earlier.
