Attendee at the May 23, 1971, meet with his well-crafted biplane hang glider which won an award for best crafted biplane hang glider.

He was a kind of Johnny Appleseed for hang gliding.

His art was shared on letters to scores of HG pilots and others.

Found some of his received art today and scanned the pieces: The first two were composed in 2000. He attended Dockweiler meets.

I found others and will be posting them.

This piece was something Art made copies of at a copy center. So, this piece in my hands is not original art.
The other art pieces before this post are scans of original part mailed to me by Art Bean for extending his message to others.

The original art of this piece was larger by far than my scanner plate. I scanned in two part and pasted the two parts together.
The original was on brown card which was the backing card for a piece of art in above post in a framed gift.

Here's some more Art Bean art on a T-shirt that was a total surprise to me, when it arrived in the mail many years ago.

Jack Lambie told me this about Joe Bean, about the time he had offered a set of plans in Sport Plane Magazine for the Hang Loose.

"Joe Bean really got me mad," Jack said. "He came over one day and wanted all these explanations and directions and help with his plans. I was explaining it and taking all this time. Then I found out that he had xeroxed them – copied them from somebody! He was too cheap to spend three dollars for a set of plans!"
