William Le Mer was a 'glider rider' in World War 2 and a hang glider pilot in California in the early 1970s. He wrote an article about the first competition he entered -- he was in his fifties and was competing against a mass of twenty-somethings -- and he won the comp. He wrote in a style that I call 'painting with words.' I added a few snippets from his article to the following page:

Your Friend William has me remembering a Dear Departed Friend of Mine, Ken Muscio. Km was the reason that I made the choice to get my "Han three ratting". One day I was up at Lake McClure. I was talking with KM. Ken asked Me if I had gotten My Hang Four Ratting? I replied that I had not. KM said to me "Big Guy, You really should take the test, I mean You are one smoking Hot Pilot!" 'Km' when it came to accesing my Flying abilities, KM may of had totally unfounded ideas of My ability to Fly an Hang-Glider. But to hear this From KM sounded so great to me.

We lost KM due to a Mid-Air, I think that it was back in 2016. KM Was a very Good Pilot. But He was a far better Human Being than He was a Pilot.
