I found a photo of Marty Alameda in Glider Rider, so I added it to the page. (I have blanket permission to use images from Glider Rider.) I also added a John Steinbeck quote/quotation. I had never heard of Steinbeck before Graeme Bird and John LaTorre mentioned him, although Dennis Thorpe also mentions him in his 1983 BHGA magazine article. (Hey, I am a techie!) From sunny Salinas to rainy Wales: There is also a fuzzy photo of Marty Alameda at Merthyr in south Wales in 1979. He is on the rocky edge photographing John Ievers flying by in a Superscorpion. I used to fly there frequently earlier that same year, but I doubt that I was there that day. |
