Random Access Memory (RAM)

Output Register

In this video Ben begins to look at how to build logic that will translate a binary value into the inputs needed to drive a common seven segment LED display. In this video, the translation is all done with AND gates and OR gates. The resulting circuit is quite complex and requires 3 breadboards to drive a single 7 segment display. Later videos will replace all of that translation logic with programmable memory that simply remembers which segments should be turned on for which binary inputs (brute force).
