Here's an animation that I created from a tutorial earlier today:

He looks like one of Joe's happy wing runners ... who forgot his wing.

The Gingerbread Man in the tutorial is named "Gus" so I also searched Google for "Blender Gus", and found these two videos. I haven't watched them, but they might be easier to follow than the instructions published on the web site:





This wasn't an easy tutorial to follow, but it produced a pretty neat result.

For anyone who hasn't watched the video, it shows 3 variable resistors connected to an arduino processor that converts the resistances to values that are sent (via USB or Serial or Parallel?) to a computer running Blender. Blender uses those three values to control the pitch, roll, and yaw of a 3-D model wing.

Back to Blender ... I tried playing around with the "Sapling" addon this evening to make a tree line:

I just discovered that Finis is quite a Blender expert!!

Here's one of his projects:



Check out the woman dancing in the water!!! WOW!!!

I don't have anywhere near the Blender skills that Finis has. So I've been stuck with a hang glider wing and no pilot. I am hoping that Finis can share some of his Blender skills to help us build a reasonably good pilot to use for our training manual. That would be great!!!
