Perhaps: "Wish I had wheels or skid or ski or roller ...at this moment. I had only bare bar"

Of all the safe splat technology in this topic, I tend to think that the simplicity and reliability of the good old wheel ... is hard to beat.

Wide wheel in RWW format:
"Roller When Wanted"
is low-mass and hidden during glide.
When wanted: deploy the roller.

This was placed in public domain many years ago.
There are several construction means to achieve RWW.
One make method is hubless inflatable with internal fabric walls; the entire corpus is packed into steamlined hybrind basebar with cable axis.
Another make method is longitudinal accordion with internal string spoking; the corpus reduces by the accordion build and then also folds to form a round cross-section .
Both makes use a trigger to release CO2 cartridge and/or redundant method for pilot-power to inflate upon failure to trigger the CO2 cartridge.

A third make method is to have the RWW fully deployed at all times. Such all-time RWW tolerates the profile drag during the entire HG flight.

Recommended: Also have skis upon which may be instrument panels.

Status of RWW: experimental

Notice that RWW inflated could act as a significant float in case of landing in water.

Comment? Tiny narrow wheels. Gouging.
