Be a friend of Dockweiler gliding by finding in my notes: DST

Wing-running experiments with HHSSW at Dockweiler !

What is HHSSW ?
"high-hat safe-splat wing"

HHSSW may be used for wing running (WR), GSHG (ground-skim hang gliding), or HG.

Aim: Bus HHSSW to Dockweiler. Do wing runs and explore safe splatting.
For health and fitness: Aim for sprinting into safe splatting.
Improve designs. DST :: Dockweiler Sunday Testing.
WR on wet sand, asphalt, or soft sand. Develop knee and feet guards.

Mario just noted:
Here's the Aolus my brother Carlos completely made by and for himself.
I took it for a spin last year. Fun days those were of more unique designs.

I got super 8 movie film of Carlos flying that thing from the air when I was flying tandem with Pat Sheedy one day at Sylmar.

Thanks Joe!!!

It turns out that we couldn't work on the sail on Saturday, so we just flew that day. We put the sail on the new Condor on Sunday March 20th. Shelley and I did the work, and Greg checked on our progress.

It turns out that Shelly and I missed one minor detail that caused us considerable work to fix. The haul-back wires from the crossbar need to go under a small web of material that's sewn to the sail. Greg caught that in his inspection and we had to remove the control bars and kingpost to correct it.

Other than that, everything worked out fine and we were able to fly it by the end of the day.

So now we should generally have a Condor available for the Friends of Dockweiler to use.

This is great you guys!

I would have been there to help but I was celebrating my birthday at my desert place with 11 old friends from river running.

Thank you!

Hi Phil!!

I didn't even know that Facebook had a Friends of Dockweiler page. I generally steer clear of Facebook for a variety of reasons. If you want to join the Friends of Dockweiler (which I strongly encourage), this is the place to do it (Frank can correct me if I'm wrong).
