I'm currently searching for the sandman here on Wunderground Mike said he will be up early. I'm going to try for early too.
I called Mike at 7am --- wind wasn't as strong as the forecast had put it through the night so he and I are not going to go.

Robin did a wellness check here. I had taken my house phone off of the hook, left the cell phone off, took a Melatonin tab., took a Benadryl tab., washed it down with Sweet Dreams Tea (That someone had swapped out with a nightmare.) and went back to bed around 5 am.
I was half dressed when Robin did the secret code with the door bell at noon. This is my sleep pattern that I call normal. Anyway, It looked as though the wind at Anapra, NM (USA at the Mexican Border.), would be too light for HG but maybe enough for PG. We fired up the Dell to look at the forecast for Gray Hill (About 40 miles WSW of Socorro, NM.) for this upcoming weekend. It looks too windy but I think the forecast is still too far out to get disappointed with yet.
Thursday is my recommended day before allowing any disappointment with the weekend forecast.

Yes, the flyover is supposed to honor the veterans that day, Saturday May 14. However, it might not be safe to fly that day - forecasted surface winds look like about 20 mph. Sunday looks a little milder. Friday is just as windy. I'd like to fly on Thursday, if I can get back to Las Cruces by 5:00 pm. -Robin

RGSA/Hawks, Everyone is hereby released from all hope for Grey Hill this weekend. You may now allow the tide of disappointment to wash all over you. Friday is STILL holding a strong wind (29) forecast. The chance of rain Sunday is in the forecast. Mike E. and I are not going to go but we are liking what we see for Tuesday and Wednesday. Still those two days are too far in the future to trust and we will wait and see for now. I hope for the VLA West Facing Training Hill to have the wind into it and do some first time camping just behind the hill Monday night onto Tue and Tuesday night onto Wed. We could set up the 195 Falcon and use my vehicle to take it back up the hill without breaking it down for transport. I'll call Max, Robin, DC, and Mike R and let them know.

Before the blow out tomorrow Robin, Nathan and I will head for Mesquite to interfere with gravity because we know how to bend gravity to our wishes. So 8 am at Robins We'll air out the Falcon 2 195 sq'. Monday looks light at Dry so we will try again to make gravity conform to our We are still watching the wind for Tue and Wed at Gray Hill and the VLA West Facing Training Hill.

This morning is looking strong for Mesquite but we will go look at it and see. Monday is looking stronger but early might work. Tue Wed at Gray is still looking good so the plan is to go if the forecast holds.

RGSA/Hawsks, Robin will be at my house at around 9:30 am tomorrow Monday and we plan to meet Mike E in the Cox Field LZ around 11am. It is expected to be strong so Robin will be trying to get more of a wire crew. _________________________________________________________________________ Tue and Wed at Gray Hill may be good for PG both days but it is now forecast for light and north on Wed. For hang gliding Mike and I agreed that for that long of a drive we would like a good two days forecast. Wed would be too light except for PG to soar the north side of Gray Hill. So Mike and I are not going to show at Gray Hill. I also called Mike R and Max M.(I left a message) now I have to call Dave C. about us canceling.

Mike E., Robin H., and I were on the phone this morning after checking with the latest forecast. Yesterday things looked borderline on the forecasts at W-underground and blown out on Launch Code. This morning Launch Code was showing it would be stronger in the afternoon than they were saying yesterday. Both models this morning were showing a little more of a westerly direction than our ideal SW. The clincher was that Mike E. already, at 08:30, had 28 mph at his place which is near launch elevation but farther north on the mountains. Tomorrow, Tuesday, is showing stronger. Wednesday has some north on the west wind. The decision we arrived at was to boldly do stuff around the house and keep an eye on Thursday's forecast.
