George Orwell predicted a future (1984) where the government would continually rewrite history by continually changing all existing printed material. You can imagine what a daunting task that would have been ... before the internet. Now it's just a few clicks for anyone with the power ... and dishonesty ... to do so.

The best use of the Oz Forum is to let people know about the US Hawks.

Orwell was a proponent of what is called open conspiracy. Open conspiracy is taking what you want the future to become and openly publishing your ideas in some form of media such as movies, books, news, social media, etc. etc.
This plants an idea (that usually has some misdirection written into the script) within the minds of the public and allows public consciousness of those ideas to bring those ideas into existence with no further input. Like planting a seed.

The ushawks forum is actually using this concept in a constructive manner without misdirection. Example: Joe Faust starts a thread about safe splat. This planted the need for such a device in such a way even the minds of non-contributing readers begin working on the best solution unconsciously. That a best solution will be arrived at is beyond question in my mind.

the future Orwell predicted is now, of course, a reality. The misdirection in orwells writings, of course, was blaming government. Anyone who really wants to understand the source of orwellian society must examine the minds responsible for the movie industry, major news, and censorship of historical facts.

One must examine taboo topics made illegal to discuss openly (banned) and who it is that encouraged the passing of those laws. One will find governments only serve as pawns in this game.

One must study BANNED topics and BANNED literature in the civilized world to understand the guiding forces.

If one does not think certain topics have been banned from discussion.... that person is ignorant and should do some digging.

As an example of banned literature, And just so Bob and the hawks will know they are good company, I present a pdf of Aleksandr Solzhenitsyns last book,... two hundred years together....http://www.mailstar.net/Solzhenitsyn-200YT.pdf
One will notice in that PDF that several chapters are not available in English even though this book was a runaway best seller in Russia .
follow this trail....the trail of banned topics and banned literature...and one will find the Orwellian fear of corrupt government is in itself, a misdirection.
Americans who think there are no banned topics in civilized society are naive. I could bring up one topic in particular that is banned in several civilized countries..punishable by imprisonment.....but..just like everyone else who does not want to go to prison or attract undue attention from certain groups....Ill pass.....
But in the world today...if what you have to say has not been banned or censored in one form or another....your probably not thinking for yourself, but only thinking what you were taught to think.

i dont know who said it first or if its just common sense that truth need not fear examination.
My last post had me going through my own library to realize how many of my books are banned in one country or another. I see quite a number of them sitting on my shelves. Some were banned by religious groups, some were banned for political reasons.....some, like...THE MURDER OF CHRIST, by Wilhelm Reich, was initially banned then restored for public purchase...https://www.amazon.com/Murder-Christ-Em ... entries*=0,
But the first book that caught my eye was Germar Rudolfs book, THE RUDOLF REPORT.
Germars report is a scholarly work. All copies of that book in Germany were gathered and burned...yes...burned, and Germar Rudolf, who is a competent and accomplished chemist, engineer, and historian was sent to a German prison for two years for writing that book (recent history, not ancient)
I have read Germars report and searched in vain for an engineers report that disproves the facts and claims presented in his report and I can not. Germars claims have never been dis-proven .....Yet his report was banned and still is banned in some countries.
I see it is still available here in the USA on amazon.com however...god Bless America
https://www.amazon.com/Rudolf-Report-Te ... entries*=0

But just because Germars book is not banned in the USA does not mean it is not censored. Germars book is not what anyone would call politically correct and god have mercy on anyone in the USA who defends its content in public.
There is more than one way to censor a topic. The manner used in the USA is to affect the minds of the many to ridicule and disdain the thoughts of the few.

Speaking out has gotten people put to death when those in power didn't want to be shown the truth.

Hmm.....when i was a teenageer and really into making big, but harmless booms and fireworks ( grew up with lots of space around me) I purchased a book that I still have. Its title is "The Chemistry of Powder and Explosives". It's also full of history about the development of explosives and fireworks down through the ages. I wonder if the present day fear of terrorists has made that book unavailable? I would do a search, but that might get me on a watch list. :wtf:

Posting the title to Germars book publicly might have put me on a watch list Frank but I dont really care.
Any conversation concerning that books content on this forum however, might put the UShawks on a watchlist so I suggest we do not continue our conversation in that vein. Sorry I brought it up.
I used that book only to illustrate that censorship is alive and well in many forms in modern times.
Until common folk decide to not allow fear to dictate their actions and reactions in life I am quite certain the demonizing and fear-mongering will continue. Fear-mongering works extremely well to control and manipulate a fearful people, especially when the fear mongers are clever enough to incite public outrage in a way that pins blame on someone other than their self. And clever they are.
To see an example of such cleverness go look at some old cartoons like tom and jerry.....its all right there.
The cat is chasing the mouse....the mouse runs by the sleeping dog, grabs a stick and whacks the dog in the head....then throws the stick into the hands of the cat just as the dog wakes up.....letting the cat take the blame for its own actions and getting off scott free.
You will find this scenario played out in old cartoons every 60 seconds or so...I dont know about the new cartoons. I dont watch cartoons anymore.

To bring that closer to home ...

When I was a USHPA Regional Director in 2009, I witnessed a student (directed on radio) at Torrey Pines crash into parked hang gliders (fortunately not hurt). I reported it to USHPA with the hopes that they would correct it. In 2011 (when I was in Florida) that scenario repeated itself and a young woman student was badly injured in a similar incident. Who did USHPA expel?

  • Did they expel the USHPA leaders who ignored my call for correction? No.
  • Did they expel the Torrey Concessionaire for running an unsafe operation? No.
  • Did they expel the instructor whose negligence contributed to the accident? No.

So who did they expel?        Me ... for daring to testify about what I knew.

USHPA sent a broadcast email of their trumped up charges to the entire USHPA membership. Yet they refused to distribute my response to those charges. The pen is mightier than the sword, and that's why those in power do their best to censor what they cannot defend.

Thanks for bringing it closer to home Bob. I came back online to do the same. And thanks rick for the cartoon. yep, we are the stick....notice how it was turned into a formidable weapon by the Dog (ushpa) chewing on its a**....
Adding Bobs observations with those of others I have gleaned from these UShawk forums,

First off, I am wondering if these were paragliding accidents you reported or hang gliding? I am forming a personal hypothesis that suggests these were paragliding accidents, Yes? no?

If yes, and these were paragliding incidents. I would love to see a record of all incidences reported to ushpa, both paragliding and hang gliding and their response to each category of flight to strengthen or weaken my hypothesis.
My hypothesis is similar to the follow the money principle of investigation.
I have also read how Rick and others have observed that foot launched single pilot hang gliding incidents have been lumped in with paragliding incidents, tandem incidents, and towing related incidents.
So..single pilot foot launched flying of HG are taking a statistical hit along with all these other aviation activities that are not single pilot foot launched HG flying. Is that correct?
sounds like a tom and Jerry cartoon...
If the record shows a marked difference in USHPA response to paragliding incidents as opposed to hang gliding incidents I would love to see the graph.
And is it true that because foot launched single pilot hang gliders have been lumped together with all these other forms of aviation that foot launched single pilot hang gliders were recently deemed not insurable?
Well, that not very nice is it? To be lumped in with and judged by insurance companies according to the safety records of activities I have no interest in participating in.....now how do I say that nasty word with a smilie?..I will try this one... .....there, I said that nasty word by using a waving smilie and I am now asking those insurance companies to read between the lines.... :D
I have already seen the stats posted as to how many representatives of each sport are on the Torrey Board...that was interesting.
Does the current USHPA board reflect a similar, unequal representation?
But this thread is about media being manipulated by outfits like OZ and hg.org to keep most pilots in the dark as to what UShawks is all about....so....
What is the motivation behind that?
The motivation for hanggliding.org and Oz report actions are probably not sinister. they are probably doing that just to distance their self from someone who has been defamed by the powers that be....I guess thats you Bob....
I am guessing the motivations behind the hg.org and Oz actions is they have decided to let someone else do their thinking for them.
I am much more curious about the ushpa actions.
Motivation for those types of actions is usually money or a strong prejudice of some sort.
So lets call my hypothesis a thing, and if there is such a thing, and if money or power is at the heart of this thing, I am wondering who is getting their pockets lined and by whom.
I am also wondering who is deciding how to invest the 2 plus million just raised and where is it being invested? Or is all that money just sitting around being depleted by inflation and waiting for the next two or three claims to drain the pot dry? I am wondering what was done with that money.

If USHPA board reactions to reported incidents DO reflect a clear bias ....that would be interesting. If not, I will have to construct a different hypothesis.
And even if there are records that indicate a bias, the question would remain as to WHY there would be such a bias? I would love to conclude that they just dont like Bob K., Nothing sinister there, maybe they just dont like you Bob?
So now I am going to give USHPA the  and tell them to read between the lines  because I like you Bob....so  them
But money is usually the motivating factor for such weirdness so I am going to stay with that hypothesis until it dead ends..
... if there is indeed money involved in this whole thing sherlock holmes would take his time machine back to the merger of HG with PG to find it and look for answers to questions like:
Who needed who the most in that merger?
Who has benefitted the most from that merger?
Who initiated the idea of that merger? Was it a PG or a HG? Was the idea initiated by regular pilots, companies, organizatiions, and was it suggested to organizations or individuals to initiate that idea by companies?
who planted that seed?
If it was initiated by a company, was it a pg company or a hg company and has their profit margin improved since the merger?
etc. etc. etc.
I can really only think of three possible motivation for the ushpa actions...
money, power, or prejudice, (unless BobK slept with a ushpa directors wife).
But all we hawks really need is to not allow ourselves to be lumped together with activities we are not even interested in.
I am not interested in doing tandems
I am not interested in paragliding
I am not interested in towing.
I am a foot launched HG pilot who does not give joy rides and I want my sport back.....RS
