Do you know if "Ole" is the same fellow who wrote a series of books about his hang gliding adventures in Mexico? I met him at Torrey a while back and I think I bought all 4 of the series. They were fun to read.

Also, I just added a new forum under "US Hawks National" titled "Hang Gliding Videos". Please feel free to share all your favorite videos in that forum.

Thanks again to Al (DarthVader) for giving me the push I needed to get the video tags working!!

You just need to insert the video number like this

P.S. Wow, that was funny and very cool. Nice job to the folks who put that together!!

Bob,
I replied to your Ole question but it didn’t make it to the message board.
So I’ll do it in Works Word Processor so I’ll have a back up if I loose everything again on the next submit try.

Yes. Ole is the hg book writer John Q. Olson. He is being sued along with John McAfee by a student that came to take lessons from Ole.
Ole has posted the depositions of all parties concerned on his blog.

Ole is homeless and living out of a 20 plus year old motor home. The legal fees have busted him financially just to have him dismissed from the suit. Which hasn’t happened yet.

They have no evidence but the sharks get to bleed him dry for information and legal fees in an attempt to get dirt on multi millionaire McAfee.
It’s a stumble and fall and McAfee isn’t guilty of anything but having money to be cheated out of.

There were some wild and wooley stories in those books!!

I'm sorry to hear that he's down on his luck. Maybe spreading the word about his plight will help ...

Let's not be sorry and stand on the side line and hope for the best for Ole, let's do sumthing about it and help this guy out, I'm good for $200.00 bucks who can beat me.

Yes, I would not mind donating money to help Mr. Ole out, to help with his leagal fees in an un just case like this one, I don't have alot, but I can chip in 2 hundred and if everyone helps out all that adds up every little bit helps, after all he is a hang glider pilot in need and a good guy, you can count on me. :D

Hi Al,

Can you post some current contact information for Ole? Maybe people can contribute directly. We should make sure that any contributions will actually help him out. Depending on the terms, any contributions might just get diverted. So Ole would be the best one to solicit our help.

Also, even though hanggliding.org and ozreport.com have not been very friendly to us, the fact remains that they are the best way to gather large-scale support. So I encourage anyone with an account on those forums to bring up the issue in a topic. Thanks.

And thanks again to you Al. I appreciate your willingness to stand up for someone else. That's in the best tradition of both the US Hawks and the Torrey Hawks. Thanks!!
