In the spirit of fair and good sportsmanship, the city of Los Angeles by granting the trio the ability to fly Dockweiler, have been in accordance with good karma, been granted the privilege of hosting the 2028 Olympic games here in Los Angeles.

You forgot to mention that one member of the trio was a former Olympian himself. That's good karma squared!!!!

The Dockweiler Decision reveals USHPA's dirty little secret.

USHPA's desperate effort to form an RRG using member funds was never about saving hang gliding. It was always about saving ... USHPA.

The Olympic community members have a strong tradition of:
"Once an Olympian: always an Olympian."

There is no "former" in that sport culture for the Olympians.

I shared with Bob Kuczewski that the Dockweiler recreational hang gliding is a neat fulfillment of over-the-bar flying I have been doing in my backyard where the hair and shirt are the wings from which I hang a bit. The hang gliding at Dockweiler is easier and safer than my backyard over-the-bar high jumping. The launches with the Falcon 195 are easier than the high jump launches; the landings are softer with the Falcon 195 than the landings on my high jump pit in my back yard. The non-ground-touching part of the flight of the Dockweiler flights are longer than the non-ground-touching parts of the flights in my backyard high jump flights.

Vido of a kind of high jump at Docweiler of the hang gliding sort or July 31, 2017: https://youtu.be/mKdZq0F_lxE
Notice that there are two distinct hang glider flights in the one video; the second flight when counted put the number of flights in that day's session to 23 or more for the shown Olympian. Video by Condor HG flyer Angela Boras.

Lots of fun flying with Joe Faust and Frank Colver today!!

We had been flying my Falcon 195 in the recent past, but Frank just took delivery of a couple of Condors, and we flew his 330 all day today.

Thanks Frank!!!     :salute:

P.S. We also flew last week, so that's every week since being granted our permits.

Lots of fun flying with Joe Faust and Frank Colver again today!!

We flew both my Falcon 195 and Frank's Condor 225. We all flew about as many flights as we could, and Frank broke his recent record number of flights.

I posted this on the Dockweiler chapter page and copying it to this thread also. This was the 1st day of flying my Condor 225 - Monday aug 28th,

Here is the link to my Vimeo clip showing my 1st and last flights of the day. In between was the discovery, when I took my hands off the bar & it stalled, that the hang point we were using trimmed the glider too slow, leading to some directional instability and slow turn recovery response. After moving the attachment point about 1 1/2 inches forward the flight characteristics improved immensely.

Here is the link to the 2 minute video: https://vimeo.com/231663855

As usual, BobK and JoeF were a big help to me physically and mentally, thanks Guys!
