Construction of an aerial vehicle which can carry even a single man requires the discovery of some
new metal or force but even with such a discovery, we could not expect one to do more than carry its owner.

-- Simon Newcome, U.S. Astronomer, 1903, forseeing the hang glider as the ultimate evolution of the airplane

The emergencies you train for almost never happen; It's the one you can't train for that kills you.
-- Ernest K. Gann

The hang glider is the safest airplane in the world; it can just barely kill you.

A thunderstorm is never as bad on the inside as it appears on the outside - It's worse!

CONCERNING TOWING HANG GLIDERS ALOFT:
My friend, Don Ray, while looking me straight in the eye said,
“IT’S HARD TO SOAR WITH THE EAGLES WHEN YOU’RE WORKING
WITH TURKYS!”
(I’m not sure about his meaning.)

The I’m Scared, You’re Scared Briefing

If I’m scared and you’re scared, let’s go do something different, and feel free to speak up when you’re scared.

We did something different a few times.

The other one was:

If I have my head up my a_s, please let me know, and feel free to extricate it.
