The following email message was sent out to all current email addresses of the Torrey Hawks club on August 12th, 2011:
Hello Fellow Torrey Hawks!!!
I recently found out that our current club President (Joe Spinney) is expecting his second child (a big congratulations to Joe!!), and he doesn't feel he'll have the time to continue as the Hawks President this next year. So as a minimum, we'll be needing a new club President on the ballot for our upcoming election (the Second Sunday of September).
In addition to the President's position, our club also has a Vice President (currently David Beardslee) and a Club Secretary (currently me). All 3 positions will be up for election at this September's meeting, so please let me know if you would be interested in running for any of those positions. In order to get the candidates to the club in a timely manner, I've set a deadline of September 1st for all candidates who would like to run. I've also set up a topic for election discussions on our club forum:

Finally, I'd like to thank Joe Spinney for his work as the club's President this past year. I appreciate his efforts to make Torrey Pines a better place for all hang glider pilots. Thanks Joe!!
