Unbelievable to me how the harness strap held. The man was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
The speedboat operator, "Alex Batman," immediately unhooked the tow line, sped away and vanished.

Joe, the last part of that video was shot in October of 2015.
His friend, Johnny Strange, died in a jump from the Gitschen (2513m) on October 1.
At least 86 more BASE-jumpers have died since then. Unbelievable.
Lucky for Ogwyn, he wasn't one of them.
Lucky for us, we fly hang glidiers.

Hopefully, someday he will discover he can jump off a mountain and go up at 1000 fpm
rather than down at 100 mph.

Hey Frank, this happened in the same place where your paragliding instructor killed herself.
And it's same place where the Santa Barbara veterinarian fell from his tandem paraglider to his death, leaving his daughter to crash into the ridge.
We've been launching hang gliders from this ridge for 45 years but I haven't found any reports of problems.
