Yes I did. I remember that landing very well. I even remember what I was thinking.

I was thinking that I wanted to make the turn tighter, but I was worried about putting too much force on the bars because I didn't know how much torque they could take. So I applied just enough torque to bring it around into the wind right at touchdown. I knew the wheels would help or I would have pushed the turn (and my luck) a little further.

Now that's not to say that there's any known weakness in the design. It may be that those bars could take a few hundred foot-pounds of torque. But as I was coming in for a landing I didn't want to be the one to find out.

It really was a great trip, and I enjoyed the week from start to finish. Thanks to Frank, Red, John, Jerry, Sharon, Jenny, and especially Logan for making it so.

At flight school I was taught the cling-to-one-upright technique. But nobody ever mentioned the legs first approach.

Hey Joe,

I'm working right now to gain a flair for landing (flairing) my Talon! :thumbup:

It can even be more of a challenge since many of the local LZs are not large and flat with consistent winds and freshly mowed grass. :twisted:

Grab the upright.
Better the higher one.

Experts are still out there choosing not to remove the common risk of control-frame gouging risking grave matter. The development of wheels-when-wanted (WWW) or skids-when wanted (SWW) or skis-when-wanted (SSW) has been slow. Adoption of of WWW or SWW has been slow. The aim of the WWW or SWW would be to deploy the WWW or SWW at launch and at near the end of a flight. During the flight the pilot may enjoy streamlined absence of draggy wheels or skids or skis. But, if deployed, the pilot would vastly reduce a common risk of control-fram gouging and its grave-matter risk of broken tissue, broken necks, or death, and tweaked rigging. The call for development of WWW or SWW was done decades ago. We have not yet any significant development on the deal.
