I was watching the parade real time on TV when that float came into view. I said to my wife Judy, that back in the seventies I would have thought anyone crazy if they said that some day there would be a hang glider on a Rose Parade float. Impossible!

That's pretty cool Frank. I'm glad you got to see it live!!

As I recall, there's quite a back story to the objection to hang gliders in Pasadena. Something to do with someone landing in the Rose Bowl!?!

I don't know the story, but if you do, please feel free to share it!!

HANG GLIDING MAGAZINE had a story write up decades ago.
Rich gave rise to new rules and ordnance’s.
