The case of the NPS requiring a permit for commercial filming in a national park (several postings back) being changed brings up a question regarding the first hang gliding launches from the rim of the Grand Canyon in the national park.
Sometime in the early 1970's several guys, which may have included Carl Boenish, launched from the South Rim of the Grand Canyon and glided down to the river where they had arranged for pickup by a rafting Co (as I recall). They made a 16mm film of the historical first hang glider flight from the rim of the canyon. The NPS charged them with making a unpermitted commercial film and confiscated the film and forbade them from using any other if they possessed any additional film.
The question: Now that this rule has changed, could this film be located and released for use?
