There are only a few days left to vote for Mike Jefferson in Region 2 !!

Mike was railroaded by the USHPA Board (including Mark Forbes) when I was Director. I saw it first-hand.

Now Mike is in a run-off election. He had offered to split the term with his opponent (1 year each), but Mark Forbes has forbidden that and is forcing a run-off election (Mark doesn't want Mike to have any time on the USHPA board). Mark Forbes is also in charge of conducting the election, and I don't trust Mark Forbes at all. So it's important that the vote be so overwhelming that it will be difficult for anyone to tamper with it. I encourage everyone in Region 2 to speak up for fairness and vote for Mike Jefferson. Go to: http://USHPA.aero and follow the directions for voting in the run-off.

Please note that I don't have anything against Mike's opponent (Patrick Hajek), but I believe that Mike has been wronged by USHPA, and Mike believes in standing up for pilots. Here are Mike's own words to me:

I will do all I can to help you and any other pilot who needs an RD to back them up instead of knocking them down.

That's the kind of RD's we need. Please vote for Mike Jefferson before February 22nd!!!

The special election is over and the votes have been counted.

Mike Jefferson got 97 votes.
Pat Hajek got 133 votes.

Pat's the winner of the election, and will serve as one of the three R2 directors,
along with Josh Cohn and Steve Rodrigues.

As paraglider pilots continue to outnumber hang glider pilots, the sport of hang gliding will continue to lose representation in USHPA. That's not a knock against paragliding, but it does say something about the leadership of USHPA who is allowing this to happen.
