I flew from Larry's place a bunch of times but I don't think I got any in-air shots of it. I really wish I had. It was an awesome site. He put almost as much work into that place as he has into his place at Villa Grove, CO. I'll have go through my pictures and finish scanning what I can find. As far as dating the photos...it's all from memory and log book entries...I flew that Raven 229 from June 1981 through 1982. I took it to Salt Lake(July '81) and Chattanooga(Dec '81) and Chelan. I had my first XC (12 miles to Waterville!) on it during my first trip to Chelan in late June 1982. I know, for sure, had my first static/payout tow with you and Don on the Raven. Then, I bought the ProStar II in the spring of 1983. I'm pretty sure the picture from set-up area at Lake City is from the spring or early summer of 1983. CSA (in that picture) and I both bought NEW ProStar II's from 'Buck's Gliders Galore'.

From the Chattanooga Dec. '81 trip...notice the leather wrapped control bar on the WW Raven 229 and that old Bell helmet I used to fly with still looked pretty darn new(sticker free!!)!! I think this also may have been my first attempt at in-air photography. I had a counterweighted Mamiya 35mm at the crossbar junction with a remote cable!! Wow...have things changed in thirty years??!!

Those are some great photos. I've been to Lookout a few times, and I spent a week at Henson's Gap, but I can't really tell if that photo is Lookout or Henson's either.

Hey old timer..that ramp was before my time but that's Hensons' Gap.

Here's hopeing the spaghetti bedecked person in the photo didn't attempt pilotage in that tailing wind.

Go ahead...make my day. It now looks as though I have OFFICIALLY achieved "old-timer" and "misfit" status at the same time!! AWESOME! Check off a couple more 'special' skills. I knew 'old timer' was coming someday, I guess today's that day. Good to be here...still. Can't remember what I wanted to say about the 'misfit" part though...anyway, thanks for the clarification on the ramp pic.

I'm pretty sure we flew that day. If Flair had his spaghetti on...I know for sure his diver was set up. I think the flags are cross from the right and it would come more straight in at times. It wasn't record breaking soarable on that trip. Captains Log: Dec 27, 81 - Jan 1, 82; 6 flights; 2:45 hours. This trip got me to just over 20 hours total in a HG. Had the pleasure of spending New Years eve at Brown's Bar.

I feel like I'm loosing the fight with the flu right now in spite of getting the shot. I think being wounded in Viet Nam was even better than this.

I was even doing the obsessive/compulsive routine of wiping my hands with WetOnes that I had added 91% alcohol to each time I got back in the car. billcummings

Flu shots are a fraud, Bill. They don't work and you are injecting garbage directly into your bloodstream.
You also were massively poisoned in the military as reward for fighting in the bankers' wars.
I will never take another flu shot.
