COMMENTS ~ Keep the umbrella handy. A low pressure system is sinking toward Southern California and will drop up to 0.25'' of rain west of the mountains on Friday night and early Saturday, says the National Weather Service. The winds are also going to run wind. Forecasters say the wind could gust 55-60 mph in the Cuyamaca Mountains on Friday night, and there will be strong gusts along Interstate 8. Light snow will fall above the 5,000 foot level in Riverside and San Bernardino counties, but the white stuff won't make it this far south. The system isn't big, but it will be strong enough to produce unseasonably cold temperatures. Friday's daytime high at Lindbergh Field will hit 65. It'll be 63 on Saturday. The average this time of year: 68.
