I'm an avid local bald eagle watcher and have a few hundred pictures of the mating pair, their chicks on the nest, and many in-air flying pictures.
There's only supposed to be 300 (maybe as many as 500) bald eagles in all of NYS. So, to have a local nest is somewhat rare. If you have access to Google Earth, look up Mossy Bank Park, Bath, NY. I'll see about posting the Long. and Lat. co-ords of the nesting tree.
I captured the above pict as the eagle flew by and over our local HG/PG launch - about 100-150 feet away. This location also doubles as a nest viewing area for the interested public.
The above shot was taken from ~ 1/8th of a mile away - across and beyond the same river as in the picture in my first eagle picture post.
This one involved me "discovering" the male eagle perched in a tree only 75 feet to the west from a hill top nest observation spot (the nest is in the valley below). He sat there unmoving for at least 20 minutes - with me taking shots (after moving closer) from about 25 feet away. That was cool!eagle wrote:bobk wrote:WOW!!!

Your a Lucky Man, WingSpan
Beautiful Shots, Thanks for Sharing them... as of Yet , I've never flown with a Bald Eagle. Maybe Someday
In Southern California, I've been Lucky to have flow with a few Large Golden Eagles at Several of our Local Mountain Site's.
Thanks Again ....... Eagle.hawk
