Taken in total, I would say that if any (local) law was passed that disallowed video (with audio) recording in ANY or ALL City of San Diego Parks, havoc would ensue. Foreign Visitors can't video the gliders flying - or a beautiful sunset? (! ! !) Parents can't video tape their kids reacting to gliders soaring overhead? (! ! !) Family members can't video record their loved one getting a tandem "lesson"? (! ! !) The concessionaire can't video tape DURING a tandem "lesson"? (! ! !)

I won't go into too much more about the trial, but I am hopeful that it will conclude at the next session in mid January.

One unusual event happened during my testimony. While I was on the witness stand, I saw Doug Poirier (sitting in the back row) take out his cell phone camera and take a picture. Photographs are prohibited in that courtroom and the prohibition is clearly posted. So while on the stand I spoke up about what I saw, and the judge sent the bailiff to ensure that Doug Poirier deleted that photo.

In a sense, this little incident was a perfect metaphor for what actually happened on November 9th. In both cases I had seen something wrong, brought it to the attention of people in charge, and as a result it was corrected.

I'm hopeful the results will be similar with justice prevailing.

By east coast time they would have at least started by now. As it is, I've got to wait till 8-9 pm (my time) before it's likely that a conclusion (?) has been reached.

It's 1:30 am on the east coast and the wind is still not blowing in. I'll have to hit the hay and wait till tomorrow to see if news on the latest court appearance has been favorable.

PS - Instead of kicking rocks while waiting, I attempted to photograph Comet Lovejoy.

Here's a good trial with video apropos this topic. There are many parts to this, all documented on video and disseminated to the public as it happened. The power of resisting tyranny is in the exposure to the light of day. These men worked very hard to defend OUR rights and it is humbling.

On July 1st, 2010 Todd M. Dodge of the Greenfield, MA Police Department and his colleagues violated the rights of Ademo Freeman (aka Adam Mueller) & Pete Eyre when they illegally arrested the duo on July 1st, 2010 for simply questioning their requests to stop filming. Together Freeman and Eyre were threatened with eight charges, including three felonies.

This video shows Freeman and Eyre's trial (opening, cross-exam, closing, aftermath) that happened on July 18-19th, 2011.
