Chris,

This is one of the most beautiful descriptions of the prelude to flight that I have ever read. Chris, it is an honor that you post on the U.S. Hawks. Thank you.

I will lift the Predator. while getting the Glider to get stable and get the Wings Level. I will play with adjusting the angle of attack. Until My angle of attack is about correct. I will have gone through a through Pre-Flight as is my Usual Mode. I simply never was ever willing to hurry My Self into the Air. So I see no need to rush my self into the Air. Well I will in my Mind, I will play with what direction in angle that I am pointing the Glider. This coupled with playing with my angle of attack. I keenly listen to My Glider talk to Me through pressure that I feel through the Down tubes. All of this I have DONE IN Real-Time. Then I look around to make sure that I will not launch off the Cliff and plow into a Glider that is fling out in front of Me. In My Mind I then Call Clear and I stride off Launch, and I am Flying, Yea Baby.

Check this one out. As usual I am doing My; "MENTAL FLYING DEAL". Yes I am thinking about how I want to say once again what was said to me by a Wufoo after I have landed. HOW I WAS LIEING REGARDING WHERE I HAD TAKEN OFF FROM. What an thing to Be said to Me right after I had Landed. The lady who called Me a liar For saying that I had Launched from Sonora Pass California was Dumbfounded as to How I could Fly with-out having an engine, and a propeller. Sure I tried to explain to Her How our engine was right up there in the Sky, The Sun. I tried as best that I could to explain How We climb Flying rising columns of Air [Thermals] , then we proceed to glide and cover ground, then we find another Thermal and climb again then Glide again and So On and So On. She stared getting it I think. But I think that She thought that I was a Crazy California Man. But in the end She let Me use Her Phone. And I was able to Call my Drier that Day, Km had elected to be our means of retrieval that Day.

I have had number of Great experiences such as the one I just now wrote about. I so want to have more experiences like this one. For an experience such as this one You simply cannot Buy.

I know, I Know, I Know how Pathetic I must come across to my Non Flying Friends. But at least with You Guys, You can share the feelings of Loss, The raw desire That must have, and make no doubt I going through the Worst caser of being Air-Horny that I can imagine. I call what I do I call it Mentally Flying. I think about Flying, I think using Detail to How My Body would feel as it was a part of My Predat6or. Well one day I will Fly again. Hell even a Sled-Ride would be the Best Flight that I could even dream of going back to where it all started for Me back in January of 1991 down in New Zealand, down on Rimurea Beach.

I know how that I must come across as Desperate. i know that I must really regarding My Posts. I must sound Pathetic. But I so want to Fly it Hurts. A Flying friend of Mine up Here, I live in Northern California. I live in Brentwood California which is located here in The SF east Bay area. A friend of mine said to Me Chris don't feel too Bad about what happened to You. You just got caught in a terrible situation that Day. You of all of us that Fly Really shocked us. If You of all Pilots pounded We all could Pound. Your accident was a real wake up call.

Good topic Chris. Joe started that topic on June 10th, 2015, and it currently contains 222 posts. If Joe can make a 5-foot packed hang glider that's easy to set up, it could really help the sport.

By the way, congratulations on crossing the 100 Post Mark on the U.S. Hawks.

Hello Everyone:

You Guys probably have a General idea of Me, and what Befell Me. It just kills Me to say it, to admit to how I pounded, pounded so severally. I did the Whole shindig. I got closer to Dying than I had a right to do. But that was then, this is now. I am looking to My Future, I very much intend on Flying once again. I have no intention of being; "one and Done" Hell who knows maybe some of You might get to meet Me at Dockweiler Beach. For it is beginning to look that Dockweiler will be where I will undergo my first Flight in 11 Years 5 Months as of now.

I can not say truly how I will feel when My Feet leave the Sand for My first Flight in over 11 Years. But I bet the word Ecstasy comes to Mind.

Hello Everyone:

Well I do tend to think about Flying Quite a lot These Days. Heck what Else should I think about? I think about Flying what I call Flying One's Glider XW as in Cross Water Flying. I then have gone as far as to call a couple if Tug Boat Companies regarding Having a Tug Boat that would be either pushing a relatively small Barge. So that way if I were to sink out, my sinking out is very doubtful. For I will be the Phoenix Guy in the Sky! I told the fellow on the Phone who answered My questions. I told this Guy Matt that this could Work. But I am fully aware that I could indeed sink-Out. I told Matt that to end up needing to Ditch one's Glider into the Ocean, while you are wearing a Nylon Harness. Can You say Death, Death by Drowning?

This is Flight that could be be made. But I am a Guy who does His Homework. Doing One's Homework would be Critical in order to make the very First Albatros XW Flight.

XW means Cross Water".

I mean check this little Prime Moment in My Past out. One Day was Flying Mount Diablo. I was taking Off From the Juniper Ridge LZ. I would soar for a short while, then I would Land at The Juniper Ridge LZ. WEll after one of My landings a Couple walked over to Me in the LZ. THe Man said to Me; "My Wife and I have been watching You Fly. I said to My Wife; He flies Just Like a Bird. I replied; "No You are incorrect, I fly better than a Bird, For I I launch, I Soar, I climb without Flapping. I Fly better than a
Bird"

What a Monent in My Life. What a Moment in My Flying Life.

Wiktionary defines "Flights of Fancy" as:

An idea, narrative, suggestion, etc., which is extremely imaginative and which appears to be entirely unrealistic, untrue, or impractical

[IT'S WHO I AM]

Bob you know there is a scene in the Movie Secretariat where The Lady Penny Twenney is talking with The Jockey, Ronnie Turquote. So the lady Miss Tweeny was interested in having Ronnie ride Secretariat. Well at a certain point in their Conversation the Jockey Ronny stands upop and says to Miss Twenny regarding how a Horse that He had ridden in a race, how the Horses Heart blew up. Ronnie said; "It is who they are, it is who I am" He had not mistreated the Horse it was simply that the Horse wanted to win. "You want someone Else, get someone Else!"

So here I am dreaming about flying. I dream about My past flights. I also Dream about the Flights Yet to come. I still have routes that are doable, possible to do . I dream of flying across water Flight, actually a cross Ocean Flight. I have already contacted a Tug-Boat company regarding how I want to have a Tug Tow a Barge along below Me and My Predator. For if I were to sink out and be forced to ditch My Glider in the Ocean. That would spel Death for your truly. As I have done so in the Past many times. t has, as it will be that I could do what I call an Albatross Route. I can and will do it safely.
