Wednesday FLYDAY CCS

Postby Dennis » Thu Sep 02, 2010 5:43 pm

As usual, Wednesday FLYDAY didn't disappoint, the conditions were superb, there was quite a good number of pilots that turned up, everyone that flew had a great time, although those that launched later in the day had extended sledders, it was a great day never the less.

I've talked with Bob at great length many times about flying here more, but I can't seem to pry him away from San Diego. *hint*

I did try to goad him some more via phone last night. We'll see.

How about tomorrow (October 6, 2010)?

I'll bring my Falcon and my Arcus and we can have some fun on the bunny hill.

More than likely, it will be storming, forecast for tomorrow isn't very good. But, we can check it out.

It's all set. I'll be at your Mom's at 8:30, and I'll bring my Arcus and my Falcon. Flyday all day!!!

Good times were had!

Although it was prety socked in, I had fun kiting your Arcus. Too bad you're not in the area today, it's supposed to be good flying! The weather is finally letting up, although next week, I understand it is supposed to be blowing down, darn it!

Hey Dennis,

In case anyone thinks the US Hawks are anti-paragliding, I thought I'd post a few pictures from your kiting session at Andy Jackson the other day.

It wan't quite a "FLYDAY", but we had fun anyway. Don't feel too bad about me missing a good day on Thursday. I went out to Horse with a couple of Hawks (John and Lyle) and flew my Falcon. Then I got a call from another Hawk (Glen) who said Torrey was "on", so I flew my Falcon there as well. By the time I got set up at Torrey, the sun was just setting, so I borrowed a strobe from Ki (thanks Ki!!!) and got to fly that magical 30 minutes after sunset. The evening air at Torrey was great!!

I hope you enjoy the pictures!!

Bob,

Thanks for the pix and I am glad you came out. It was a great day!

We must hook up at AJX again.

McKenzie is helping me finish with the PG lessons, maybe we can fly the bags off of Marshal soon?

Even without flying it was fun. If nothing else it was worth getting a picture of you upside down!!!

So come on out to Torrey tomorrow!! It's a Second Sunday, and Ki offered to adjust your harness. You might even be able to kite my Arcus under his supervision.

Also, I spoke with Ki about the leg loops, and I was thinking that some velcro strips (possibly with elastic) attached to the corners of the seat might be enough to separate those loops to clear the "vital areas" while not changing the fundamental design or safety of the harness. Maybe that would help Ki make a harness that overcomes that objection. What do you think?

Crestline was where I met hands down no Question the most impressive Pilot that I have ever seen. That Pilot is none other than Micky.
