Hang Glider Manufacturers Association Dissolved
On June 8th, 2022, the directors and members of the Hang Glider Manufacturers Association, by unanimous vote, elected to dissolve the association. That process has now been completed. The reason for this decision was the decline in hang glider manufacturing activity among the members, and the resultant inability of the association to generate adequate funds to provide for minimum necessary expenses for the continuing operation of the association.
The HGMA was formed in 1977, and over the last 45 years the association has processed 465 certification packages and addendums from 37 member manufacturers. The USHPA has agreed to maintain on its website, at http://www.ushpa.org/hgma, the information previously available at http://www.hgma.net, including the historical lists of certified hang glider models and member manufacturers, general information about the HGMA program, and a copy of the HGMA Airworthiness Standards.
Those who may have questions about the HGMA, HGMA certification, and HGMA Airworthiness Standards, can contact me.

Earlier this morning I checked the link (http://www.hgma.net) and it went to a parking page. However, later today it redirected to USHPA's web site. I have sent an email message to Mike Meier requesting that the HGMA database and web pages be made publicly available so they may be rehosted on other hang gliding web sites (such as USHawks.org, USHGA.aero, and USHGRS.org) and not depend completely on USHPA for their preservation. I haven't heard back yet.
