Hi Sam,

Thanks for your initiative to get this going in your region!!!

I included your event in our monthly Torrey Hawks club newsletter:

Hello Fellow Torrey Hawks!!

Tomorrow (June 9th, 2013) is our Second Sunday fly-in and club meeting at Torrey Pines. The current forecast shows west winds at 7mph from 11am to 1pm growing stronger and turning more southwest as the afternoon progresses. This forecast site typically underestimates the wind strength, so I would predict it to be a bit better. We'll have our typical free Second Sunday food and soft drinks, and I'll have my Falcon 195 set up for qualified club members who want to fly it.

We also have some good news from Texas. One of our Texas Hawks (Sam Kellner ... an old time Torrey pilot), is setting up a USHPA Instructor Certification Program in Albuquerque at the end of the month. The IP clinic will be offered by Torrey Hawks member (and Region 4 Instructor Administrator) Mel Glantz. The dates are June 28th, 29th, and 30th (Friday, Saturday, & Sunday). For more details, please contact Mel Glantz at:

     melglantz1@yahoo.com      (505) 710-8208

or visit the US Hawks forum topic started by Sam at:

Thanks again for your membership in the Torrey Hawks, and I hope to see you in the sky!!

I hope it helps!!

Still some details to work out but it looks like it will happen.

A 3day IP clinic is scheduled for June 28, 29, 30. Fri., Sat., & Sunday.

Reg11 Director, David Glover is abreast of these plans.

The clinic is being offered by Reg4 Instructor Administrator, Mel Glantz. melglantz1@yahoo.com ...

Anyone interested should contact Mel for availability and submit pilot info. Please let me know also, if others plan to attend. Car pool?

Emphasis on platform and scooter tow.

The location is Albuquerque, NM. Price is $350.

Basic instructor info: http://www.ushpa.aero/documents/sop/sop-12-05.pdf

Plans are to fly Dry Canyon, with local guide, on return trip.
