I certainly agree those comments should be in the free speech zone.

There "Free" can rant all he wants and I don't need to read it, if I chose not to. I read his rant, under my honoring the Pearl harbor victims and their families topic, because he claims to be a patriot and I thought he was adding a respectful post on the subject matter. If I had known what he had posted ahead of my click there would have been no click.

I still have no idea how I got on his s**t list as enemy #1.

Frank

BTW - I had direct relatives who fought for our freedom in the revolutionary war. My original immigrant ancestor, Edward Colver, came to this land in 1635 and helped found the Massachusetts Bay Colony and the town of Boston. The house he built, some years later, still stands in Old Mystic Connecticut. Don't question my love for this country!

Remember and honor the biggest political scam/coup in the 21st. century.
This is a momentous day as the Democrats are officially destroying their party with today's impeachment fiasco.
Flashback: 21 years ago, Jerry Nadler had this to say about impeachment:

This Day in History: Jerry Nadler Warned U.S. of Dangers of Partisan Impeachment
https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2019 ... peachment/

Nadler, .. warned of the dangers of a partisan impeachment effort exactly 21 years ago during former President Bill Clinton’s impeachment, proclaiming that it would “produce decisiveness and bitterness in our politics for years to come.” He even warned that it would cause Americans to question “the very legitimacy of our political institutions” and referred to it as a “partisan coup d’etat”:

Steve Scalise

@SteveScalise

This was impeachment in search of a crime. And they never found one—because there wasn't one.

Democrats have no case to impeach @realDonaldTrump.

This partisan scam will be a stain on Nancy Pelosi's legacy.

You are wrong Frank. Free Speech and due process are sacred on this forum. Many people gave their lives to defend those rights, and we disrespect them when we trample them ... even for a noble cause.

Radical Democrats don't believe in free speech and due process.
According to our rules, members can start topics and define the bounds of those topics in the Blog Forum. That's why we have it. In the general forum, we allow topics to wander freely as they do in normal conversation.

Thank you Bob, for being the only hang glide discussion board that has fair guidelines on this.

That's not to say that we can't recognize rudeness. We can.
I can agree that Frank's comments have been rude but I can accept them without complaint. He should be able to say whatever he wants.

I agree that Warren's comments were rude. Maybe Warren will agree,

I disagree. I don't believe I have been rude at all toward Frank.

and we won't have to escalate the matter further.

There is no need to escalate based on anything I have written. Frank, on the other hand has made false assertions that could be addressed if you are intent on taking matters at hand into further escalation. I'm not asking for any action against Frank, but this may have to be addressed if you intend to take any action against me.

That's what's missing on the other forums, and it's another thing that we do better on the U.S. Hawks.

Do it right or do nothing.

Warren, what do you say? Can we get your agreement to move these last posts to the Free Speech Zone?

Answered above. I have written nothing that deserves to be censored.

Thank you Bob for all that you have done to sustain Us Hawks in good order. It does come with "UPS" & downs.

This topic was about REMEMBERING & HONORING, and when it wandered off into totally unrelated things,

The original post was political history of the last century. We can honor that history and the people that paid the price by being cognizant of the monumental history that is being made today. I'm all for remembering the past but it's today we need to be paying attention to, lest we repeat the mistakes of the past. This is what the 'greatest generation' fought for and I have direct relatives that fought for that, too.

No, you haven't. But let's talk hypothetically.

Let's say that a group of family and friends sit down for a Thanksgiving turkey dinner. One among them grabs the entire turkey and places it on his plate. His reply to protests is that there was no rule against it. He's right. I've never sat down for dinner and been told not to take the entire main course. Have you?

There's an implicit understanding that everyone sitting down for dinner together will regulate themselves to be fair to everyone else. The same is true for a forum. Yes, we do have free speech here, but is it fair to make every topic about national politics?

Warren, let me ask again if you think that some of this discussion might belong in another topic?

My thoughts are that if the discussion topic falls outside the mission statement it should be somewhere other than the front page. I would like the board to take up this issue.
EDIT: if some of my past posts have wandered off topic concerning our mission statement please flag them for the moderator
to have them moved.

May we discover those lost who rubbed the world of hang gliding. All were defending spaces that permit us to hang glide today!
Deep thanks for their ultimate gift.

Exactly. There are many avenues to remember and honor.
Nothing I've written takes that away from anyone.
