OK Maybe I am not a Poser. But I sure do feel like one Heck look at My reality in 7 More days it will be twelve Years since I flew My Predator. back over a decade ago when I flew My Glider on XC Flights my Flights while launching from the same launch, on the same Day. Flying the same basic route as my topless Brethren. Who might be flying a Wills Wing T-2, or maybe a Laminar MR 700 Topless. The Pilots were probably all better Pilots tan I was. But at the end of the Day it was My Predator 158 the went long that Day. THe advantage that the Predator had over these Topless Gliders was the Gliders incredible ability to get up working light lift, I'm talking the lightest Thermals. We all know that if You have to land, Your DAy was over.

Since this Busted up Pilot last Flew My Predator I have only managed to fly what turns out to have been My very first two Flights in a Grobe Two Seat Sailplane. After My second Flight where I did al the Piloting. My Instructor Mike SXXXXXXX and I were standing alongside the Sailplane. I said to Mike; "Mike get your Head up! You look down. Stand up straight and Proud. We experienced a good Launch and Tow. We did a little Thermalling. So what We did not Fly XC. We can Fly XC on My Third flight in a Sailplane".

The only difficulty that I had was when I experienced some Pilo under Tow. But other than that, it went great.

Guys You need to imagine, imagine that You have not Flown in 12 Very Long Years. Yes this coming March 28th will b e Twelve Excruciating long desperate Years since I had My Last Flight. But more and more it is beginning to look like i very well might end up down in Southern California to Fly once again. Yes this Slacker, this Poser of a Pilot who was known as the; "BIG GUY IN THE SKY". I believe when I have what hopefully will be My First Flight in 12 Years. I believe that I should be addressed as; "THE PHOENIX GUY IN THE SKY" Heck the way I see it I earned the right to be called the; "THE PHOENIX GUY IN THE SKY"

I sit here and I contemplate My situation. I am a Guy who made a very bad decision on an high wind Day. I was on the first ten Miles or so of an ill fated XC Flight. I will never know what went wrong, but Boy did things go wrong. That pounding I took on March 28th 2010 was a real Game Changer. I still long to Fly though. Who knows if or when I will Fly while we are down South. But rest assured I will Fly again. Currently I am hoping to be able to head on down to Southern California. I will, if I do get down South. I will be going down With "Dave C". So that We can be at Dockweiler bEACH for the Otto Lilienthal Fly-In Meet IN May. I also hope that I will be able to fly once again by My Flying Frank's Condor.

I realize that some of You might be thinking that Heck He will Be Flying a Condor at the Beach. I so do not look at My Flying a Huge Single Surface Glider as a Step-Down. I am looking at Flying that Big old Condor as such a significant event in My Flying, In My Recovery. You Guys nor will I know the total Zeal, the Euphoria that I will experience when My Feet leave the ground for the first time in what will Be May 12 Years 2 Months This Come May.

For I will have Morphed into the [Phoenix Guy in the Sky]!

Hello Everyone.

{Predator, all the Time}

As I have already stated, I have felt like a Poser. Here I am owning a Predator. I really do not know if the Predator is still the Hottest, longest, glider to fly xc on a given Day, such as was the case Twelve Years ago. Maybe, maybe Toplewss Gliders hve4 surpassed the Predator's ability to Fly XC. The Predator even though i WAS qUITE heavy while I flew My 158 Predator. I was able to Climb so well. We all know if and when one sinks out when You have to land, Your Day is Done! John even though John is responsible for the fact the Predator was designed and built. I always when talking to John about the great capability of the Predator to excel When Flying Cross Country against Top-Less Gliders.
