So I was just thinking after reading the Post regarding being able to short pack a Glider after having landed. What a good Article. I also like the pictures of Two Guys with Their Gliders on their Backs. This ability to short-Pack. Then to be able to Put the Glider on Your back. Then One could pack their wing to a rode after during an XC having done that Foul, Filthy, Four Letter, Word. Bob Please take note I know what I will now type is a Filthy word; SINK. But please do not ban Me. Anyways, to be able to quite eastly compared to the traditional Way all of Who Fly Xc have had to do, or will have to do in order to get Our Glider to a road. This set-up could be quite Cool. Thanks Guys.

So I am trying to get in contact with Pilots tha I used to Fly with back, I do not know. Maybe 25 Years ago or so. I want to contact Jon James, Leo Jones, Scott Hueber. I want to go to the next Sonoma Wings Meeting. If I can figure out how to put up a Post on The Sonoma Wings Web-Site. I will put something on the Message Board. Oh well The Plight of the Phoenix Pilot goes on, and ON.

[ INSURANCE, ? ]

Ok I have a Question a thought; If I were Flying My Predator, Flying an XC Route. So if were to Completely blow it. So Badly, that I were to Pile into an Car down on the road below Me. Providing that I survived the impact. Would the say a Police Man or a Police Woman, would They ask Me for my Proof of insurance? I Mean that's why We have insurance correctly? It is to Provide Financial composition to the Party that Due to our Poor Piloting Skills causing the Accident Correct? I have Flown Hang Gliders for Oh say around Twenty Years noe=w. I have yet to hear of such an incident to occur. No I know of not one single motorist, or any other typ of Damage caused by an errant Hang Glider to have been caused to any kind of Structure, Vesical, Person, Whatever. where A Pilot had to use our insurance. Does any one else know of an Incident when Our Insurance had to Pay out?

OK I am having to limit My aspirations to Fly. I need to be realistic. This does hurt Emotionally. But Chris You need to get realistic. I do have things to look Forward to. John is planning on coming up here to Cazadero California. When John get's to see Me I believe that He Will be Shocked. Shocked in a good way. For the last time that I caused John to express Himself upon hearing that it was during the Landing Phase of My Landing. He said one word to describe how He Felt upon hearing that I had Messed up My Landing. He said that He Fewlt Shock. BUt now I believe that He will Feel a sense of Shock when He see's Me at a Body weight that is a 100 Pounds less than Before I Pounded. Yea Baby, Oh Yea BABY!

Who know Mavbe I will Fly Dockweiler after all. Regardless if I do Fly down there. I Plan on finally coming Down Then I will get to See John, Frank, and Bob.

Well i am up here at My Mothers House in Cazadero with My Mother, and My Sister. Well as time goes on, More and more i am beginning to feel as I did before when I pounded thirteen Years ago. March Twenty eight of this Year will be My Thirteenth anniversary of that ill fated Day. I do indeed want to get down there but at this present Day. It looks like I very well might not Fly for some time to come. Check this out. after only Days My Waiver came to Me in the Mail. So at Present, I am planning on coming down in Late May. If for nothing else but to meet Bob, and Frank in Person.

Look Guys at Present I am trying to be reasonable. In fact as of today anything that I do or Say. First i think. to myself. Am I being reasonable. So when John and I finally get together. He and I will sit down and discuss where I am Physically and Mentally. Then We will as a Team Decide If I should Fly.

I knnow this sounds pretty Blah, and Trivial, But I must Fly safe. And above all else, I must Be Reasonable.

New Mexico pilot Curt Graham (spelling?) years back died doing loops and his right leading edge of his Predator
broke. His reserve failed to open and he and his Predator caused damage to a house. USHPA Insurance paid for the house repair.
Chelan Washington years back had a dust devil pick up a glider that injured a bystander seriously. USHPA paid.

Just go do it
I know you like to fly cross country again but you must start again somewhere.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wRDLeNOph54&t=4s

Chris, we all want to see you enjoy your Hang Glider again, so pick a spot, maybe your neighbors, grab some friends and a camera, and go fly your glider in a stiff wind, and at the same time run with it to build up your legs, which is the most important thing, your friends won't let you fall, and they'll love running around.

You can video your experience and add some of your own music and send it to John as your own, "off and On",
and who knows,
a "wind powered video machine" might be in the works.
I believe John is keen on a static HG flight sim plus video machine, but his mentorship with student pilots takes his time.

With your feet behind you and bugs in your teeth, all you'll have to do is close your eyes and remember what an accomplished pilot you were, besides, your friends won't let you down. You can broadcast live over your phone in real time to other HG friends, they'll love it.

Get confident in your legs, flying is easy.
As skiers we used to, "sit on a wall" to make the legs stronger, and cross crunches got the abs real good.

Balance issues after a TBI are inherent, we got our bell rung big time, but if you keep your head up and pick a point to walk to without turning your head, you'll be fine.
In my case, if I turn my head too fast, I'll fall down, so I don't.

Stay safe out there. :salute:

I as every Pilot have thoughts of returning to the Air. Well on the One hand; I might be able to get Myself back into the Air this Summer. John will be coming up this way. This way is Cazadero California. There is a Chance, I say that there is a chance that I will Fly again. It Most likely will be at either a Training Hill, or it will be happen over at the Cost. John and I will talk about how well, or possibly My Body will not work well enough in order for the Decision to try to launch Jon's North Wing T-Two Tandem Wing. Well the idea that I am going with is that if I were to do say a Dreaded Whack: Take Note, I believe it is in the Bible. Or if it is not in the Bible it should Be; "Thou Shal Not Whack" I really did try to attair to that Biblical Scripture.

WHACKING:

It is something regarding Pilots {FEELINGS} Pilot's make their Choice to either do, or not do a type of Flying based on a Personal Perception regarding say to Fly say Cross Country. or to Land Down-wind up Hill. Here is an example of a Pilot's Perception, and Personal Fear running Amuck. Up on Mount Diablo at one of My "BIG GU Flyins. My Friend Tim-M said to Me; "You know Chris You are Blowing it asking these Pilotsto Land next to the Cone for the Spot Landing. Someone is going to get hurt", I said to Tim; "Tim this LZ is over 15 Years old. This LZ. Has never experienced a Glider whascking into the Ground. I am not the only Pilot Who use's this Down-Wind up Hill LZ. I know of at Least Two others; Kebin, Tim and I none of us are in anyway superior landers. Also none of us have ever whacked, while landing at this LZ: "Tim How; {DANGEROUES CAN IT BE?"

Here is My interpretation on Pilots Fear of Flying Cross Country; Iknow Pilots who completely shun the Thought of Flying XC, citing excessive DANGER as their reason for not wanting to Fly Cross Country. They talk about staying safety, when up here in Northern California they simply drive past Mount Diablo on their way to Fly two HG Sites located in the South Bay, Mission Ridge, and Mission Ridge. Where They launch Boat around for a while, then land in the Cow Pasture Below. But at these "Safe Local" Flying Sites. a fair number of Pilots have Died. I believe yet another Pilot Died this ear While Flying Ed Levin. But the Plots Dearth was a "Safe Death" I mean You just can not Make something up such as how these Pilots Brains function, or fail to function.

I personally know of only one Pilot to lose His Life while Flying XC. That Pilot was Hawkeye at King Mountain in The early Nineties, that Pilot was Hawkeye . i know that Statistics' can be manipulated so as to convey a false Narrative. But Come-On; I have been Flying Haig Gliders for Twenty Plus Years, and I know of one Pilot who died Flying XC, compared to a Whole slew of Pilots that were Flying {SAFE} local sites.

I am because I believe that there are za Faif number of pilots who look at these postings that even though what I will ask is off-topic, really though it is not a subject that many of us are dealing with; That would be having an Parent, or parents who have Dementia. i have my mother who has due to dementia has regressed into a shell of Her former physical, and Mental self. What i want to ask are these Points; can Dementia somehow be managed> Can Dementias' effect be reversed? Or is it deaf is the Persons only way of shedding tone self he Disease?

So I am now up here in Cazadero. Regarding any Flying, currently it is looking fairly shaky for My Flying. But there is some good Flying that will be here as it gets warmer. For John is going to come up here this Summer. Like My Sister said; It will be fun to watch John Fly. It is always fun to watch John Fly.

As of Late; It has been raining Cats and Dogs up here in the Redwoods. The News Narrative regarding Weather has been an ongoing drone of howe we are ecperiencing Global Warming. So now they simply change their Narrative.
