That explains a lot of what happened on the HGAA. We pretty much "elected" Scott to be chairman by consensus. I don't think Scott knew JB, but somehow JB became his vice chairman. Scott took a short vacation and JB swooped in to take charge. I didn't know (at that time) that Jack and JB were thick as thieves. In short order they had hijacked the HGAA effort and drove it into the ground.
That's when the U.S. Hawks was born. We literally rose from the ashes of HGAA. Jack had thought he'd burnt the HGAA to the ground, but he didn't recognize our devotion to hang gliding (probably because he never really had it himself). I suspect there's a similar behind-the-scenes connection between Jack and Red, but I haven't come across it yet. What a mess huh?
